I DON'T UNDERSTAND

Sometime back I gave my mum all my salary to show that I really care, for her to feel loved since she is a single parent. But I guess that's not enough last week I decided to buy for myself something from my savings of a whole year.when she saw that she started saying that she can't believe that I bought all that and yet I have so many responsibility, ever time soap, cooking oil,etc what she says is"I can't believe someone has the bravery of buying unwanted thing and forget important".😭😭😭😭am only young and I try my best.Is it wrong to appreciate yourself for once and the other day I help.i don't really understand she suppose to be my mum,my mentor,my strength so now I feel bad for buying for myself something.

Hi , you don’t say how old you are, old enough to work it seems, NO it’s definitely not wrong of you to buy something for yourself when you give so much to the family, have you tried to talk to your Mum about how you are feeling.

Hi, it isn't wrong to buy something for yourself. Sounds like your mum is struggling for money. Does she have any mental health issues as well?

No, it is not wrong to show yourself a little love. As long as you have your health and safety and shelter covered, then once in a while you can treat yourself.

People who love you will build you up and not tear you down. If you want to contribute to the home’s expenses, give a little at a time, or do the grocery shopping one week. You earned it. She is the adult and has the responsibility towards you.

If I am reading your message right, she complained about chores not being done. It still falls under giving yourself a little attention, but, depending on your age and your arrangements, if you have responsibilities, you need to make time for them also.
