Hello! I began this medication (it is Zoloft) about a month and a half ago, after taking 90mg/daily of Duloxetine for nearly six years. Here is what I noticed (after weaning completely off all medication and beginning Zoloft)

1. The first two weeks I was emotional- laughing, crying, etc. I had begun taking half a pill each night. Duloxetine made me numb to emotions, so it was a bit strange. I am evened out now.

2. I was STARVING for the first month. It has only been about two weeks since I have felt satisfied and not direly hungry. I mean, literally, I would eat dinner and then be starving twenty minutes after. It is BETTER now, but I still am starving (even as I type this!)

3. This medication does not take the "Edge" off my emotions, as Duloxetine did, but I feel more regulated and less prone to panicking.

I, myself, am trying to figure out if it is worth staying on, but I think it has its benefits. Of course medication varies from person to person. Good luck with it!

Needs a few weeks for you to notice the difference! If for the period of time you have not have bad side effects stay on it , if the side effects was bad and you can’t tolerate then discuss it with your dr.good luck 🍀

Hi Lakelandfell ,I am taking 100mg of sertraline and I have been taking it since October 2018.

They have been working fine for me. I haven't had any side effects from them.

I was put on the 50mg in the April of 2018 as I had been having trouble getting antidepressants that work for longer than 2 years, but in the October I had a six month review with my doctor, but the week before my review, I found out that my late dad had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer due to smoking, which sent my mood and depression back down hill and when I spoke to the doctor the following week I explained to him about my late dad (he passed away 6 months after his diagnosis at the age of 63 years) and the doctor increased my dose from the 50mg to 100mg.

I was diagnosed with postnatal depression when my daughter, who is 19 years old now, was about 2 months old.

I was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety whilst I was fighting to keep my daughter, but I lost the fight in the spring of 2003 as my daughter was forcibly adopted when she was between 6 months old and 8 months old.

Hi, I’ve been on sertraline 50 mg for about 10 weeks now, I won’t sugar coat it, the first 2 weeks were a nightmare, After about 2 days my head was so much more clearer and I could think straight, but that was all really, about day 3/4 I started feeling quite rough and the anxiety and symptoms were back, the only thing that kept me going with it at that point was the fact that I was sleeping, I was advised by my mh nurse to take in the morning because of not sleeping for so long. Then about day 14/15 I started to notice that the anxiety and symptoms weren’t as bad and then a couple of days after that gone completely. I feel better than I have in a long time, although I still have a couple of days a week I feel tired and don’t have any energy, the good days outweigh that and on those days I do give myself permission to hide and rest. I just went back to work last week on a phased return so I’ll see how that goes, at the moment I don’t see a need to get my dosage upped. If I can give you any advice at all it’s to stick with it my mh nurse told me the first 2 weeks are the worst and after that you start to see the benefits. Ultimately tho everyone is different. Good luck and I hope things go well 🙂

That will pass, it was the racing heart for me that got worse before it got better and it’s been about 3 weeks now since I’ve had it. Just take each day as it comes the next few weeks and rest when you need to. Part of my problem was I kept going far longer than I should have and ignored the signs and in the long run probably done more bad than good for myself. I’ll be thinking of you and here if you need to chat. 🙂
