I’ve been going thru a very challenging time and as a Jewish woman whose father, grandparents and aunt were Holocaust survivors , seeing what has been going on in Ukraine has brought up traumatic memories of what my family told me what happened to them during WW II. So yes I must rise up from this trauma and pain and push thru this and focus what I need to do on a day by day basis

Listening to the news about how they have destroyed the Holocaust memorial in Ukraine, it’s all so sad

Yes the 2 day incident of the massacre of approximately 33,000 Jews in Babi Yar Ukraine was the largest mass slaughter of Jews during WW II.

I normally beat myself up over character flaws in order to wake up and change my behavior. It never worked. I recently read: you cannot shame your way into growth. I have been practicing self-acceptance and self-compassion at least as much as I find myself able to. (Progress not perfection) and I've seen more positive change than ever before in a relatively short time. This just reminded me of that and I thought I'd share.
