Trying to be happy in love

I'm in love but he works overseas. Long distance is hard for me and we aren't in a relationship. We originally met in college but he graduated a year before me and has been breaking my heart ever since. I know it sounds crazy but he won't commitment to me because he says my emotions flip too much. I tell him it's because we have no commitment but he won't let me move on and be happy. Literally just messaged a guy on my Facebook who was interested in dating me. Everytime I try to move forward he convinces me what I'm doing is wrong and makes me feel like I'm unloyal for not waiting for him but he doesn't want to commit to me. I need help deciding what to do about this.

It must be so tiring having to go through this. I think the fact that you're so confused, speaks for itself. There would be no room for confusion if that person made you feel secure about their feelings for you. Plus, it seems that they've made it clear that they do not want to commit and that you two are not in a relationship. How can you be unloyal to a non-existent relationship? This seems rather unhealthy and toxic. I think you owe it to yourself to move on from all of this. I would try giving the guy who's interested in you a chance. Who knows? It might be the best thing you do. Good luck!
