Greetings! Has anyone tried light therapy for the above? I'm interested in buying a lamp/light and wondered if anyone has had experience with this issue? xgracy

I have a lamp. Got it for my birthday. I’m on day 10. I’d like to say it’s helping. I sit in front of it for 20-25 min every morning. I think some lamps are a better quality than others. I’m not sure what quality mine is. I don’t feel a huge difference yet….time will tell though. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try! Really it can’t hurt. Tell me how you do with it!

I live in Alaska where we have long dark winters & use a Full Spectrum light. I think it helps but it is kind of difficult to tell. I think most of them now are 10,000 lux. The Verilux brand is a good one as the person above stated. Amazon has them for good prices. They used to be quite expensive but have come down a lot. I have also used other brands, I think any brand is fine as long as it is 10,000 lumens, I sit with it a little to the side of my laptop in the mornings while checking emails. 20-30 minutes is fine. The one I have is about the size of an ipad. Very thin. (I also take extra vitamin D3 which is supposed to be good for mood) Anyway, a SAD light is definitely worth a try. Oh, one other thing, I had a psychiatrist tell me it´s good to start using it early in the fall, even September.
