My antidepressant medication Zoloft is not helping my anxiety what medications have helped others?

I have anxiety and have been on Zoloft for over 1 year and still have anxiety. Has anyone been on another medication that has helped them? If so what medication has helped you?

Zoloft didn’t help me much either. I as well have been on it for up to a year until I was taken off of it. The one which helped me out the most was Imipramine.

Imipramine really brought me more at ease to the day my doctor found I no longer needed it. I have tried plenty of anti depressants and Imipramine tops it.

There are plenty of new antidepressant drugs available today. Make sure you be as specific as you can on how you feel to your doctor. Best to keep a notebook handy. By doing so you will find a medication which works best for you quicker. The sooner the better it is to bring an end to anxiety.

I have used Ativan, Valium and now clonipin. I have had the best results with clonipin. But anxiety is a monster. So debilitating and painful. Good luck on your search for the best med for your anxiety and keep me posted. Interested in what helps you and what meds you try and which help and which don’t.

Thank you for your reply. I am on Zoloft and Clonazepam when needed but it is needed most of the time which leads me to believe the Zoloft is not working!

I tried Zoloft and really didn’t find relief. Everyone is different. I have tried so many meds, I don’t even remember all of them. If the Zoloft isn’t working talk to your doc. But keep me posted.

Hi: I would advise you to talk to your doctor. A turning point in my life was when my doctor gave me Paxil. I was so sick and within two weeks my mood lifted and I started to feel such relief. Alas, after years on Paxil it stopped working, my doctor told me that might happen. At that time, I was suffering from Anxiety, Depression and OCD. I've never come across another good drug like Paxil. Good Luck.
