There is so much pressure in my life right now it is overbearing. I cant sleep, I cant eat, I feel constantly that I do the things I do for my parents just to make them happy. I am a golfer, and I love it so much but they put so many expectations on me that I cant keep up with my social and school life. Are there any athletes out there who have or have had the same issue as me?

How do you athletes deal with parents pressure?
Hey, I'm no longer an athlete but, I once was a three sport athlete to be exact. My parents did the same thing because they were banking on me to be the next big thing for the family but, I couldn't because of all the overwhelming qualities.
I don't have many options for you besides letting yourself know that you are doing it for enjoyment and pleasure, not for your parents to put a winning title on you. At the end of the day, you'll be the one who has to go and perform that sport not them. You want to do great because you've worked hard not because they've put in the work. Always remember that and if you ever feel like its too much, do what's best for you.
Thank you- that helps. I love the sport I do and I do it for myself, and I put in the work, even though my parents claim they put in a lot of work also. Which they do in their own way, which is by paying for it and watching me play. I feel like they don't understand the mental and physical stress I go through.
