How do you cope with depression
The phases of depression Ive been through have all been extremely difficult. It's been awhile since I've had to deal with it. I'm glad you are seeking support. Just remember that it won't last forever and count up any good things in your life as you can force yourself to think of.
Hey Folashasd depression does make it difficult to cope with life. Hopefully your treatment includes visits to your Doctor and or therapist. Perhaps you have started a course of antidepressants. It does take a while before you notice they are working. They work by gently lifting your mood.
I coped one day at a time. I was lucky that I got a lot of support from my mother.
Do you have any support?
Hi! I suck at life. I have situational and clinical depression.
1. Emotions lie. Don’t trust them. When I’m right and everybody else is wrong there’s a problem. Took me years to learn this one. Thankfully people love me.
2. Keep a diary of dates and things that seem to spark your depression. I found out I get clinically depressed 2-4 days out of 2-3 months now that I have coping skills for situational depression.
3. Proactive. Don’t get hungry, tired, or let sickness take over.
4. Eat regular, poop regular, breathe regular/deep, gentle exercise regular, regular quiet time every single day of your life. Stay hydrated.
5. Remember: this too shall pass. Don’t give it more than it deserves. Tell your brain it’s chemicals are messed up and you don’t believe it. Speak it out loud so you activate multiple parts of the brain that are trying to lie down on the job.
Most importantly
SING!! Hum to yourself. Sing. Neurotransmitters get right in line when you sing.
It takes practice but all this helps me and most of my patients.
Take good care of yourself

Indeed, life is difficult. Treatment is a learning journey and as unique as you are! Perhaps it is just a sign that your treatment needs some tweaking to what is best for you!
