How do you handle your seasonal depression, on top of your regular depression.
Hello! I have a therapy lamp which is helpful. It's designed to mimic the sunlight. I also take vitamin d. We get vitamin d throughout sunlight. Lack of it in the winter months can make us feel down and with little to no energy. Also, try and get outside every day. It is good for our overall wellbeing to get out.
I hope these suggestions help!
Yes! I always open my curtains and blinds of a morning when I wake up so the natural light can shine through, it always makes feel a little more chipper throughout the day. I also walk everywhere I go, weather permitting most days and that also helps. Thank you for the suggestions.
You are very welcome!😊I am so grateful to live in a place where I can walk everywhere. Walking always cheers me up.
I feel your pain. I take 50micrograms of vitamin d3 each day and it does help with the winter blues.
Getting vitamin D is very important and on sunny, dry days going for long walks, or a couple of shorter walks! I also find being careful of what I eat helps. A stronger immune system through good food and enough movement can help us get through dark days!
Hi, Yes you can deal with seasonal depression through the following measures Get enough sleep to feel relaxed, but be careful not to get too rested, as SAD symptoms often lead people to feel like sleeping in the winter.
Participate in an exercise program or engage in some form of regular exercise.
Choose healthy foods and snacks.
For some people, increased sun exposure may help to improve the symptoms of SAD.
Speech therapy, especially psychiatric therapy (CBT), can effectively treat SAD.
Selected serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are a type of antidepressant commonly used to treat SA for which you need medical professional help as I am not the expert .
