I said noisy not nosey. ( that’s a topic for another day) I live by myself in what I considered a quiet environment, but this morning I realized it’s not that quiet. Especially when my tv is off. There are a myriad of noises. My fake Christmas tree (yes, it’s still up) is emitting a hummmmm, although quite rhythmically (the saving grace). My dehumidifier chooses to belch out it’s contribution whenever it feels like it. Startling to say the least. My heater isn’t a problem since it is quiet, has manners and is empathetic to my needs. I think it was manufactured in the south. There’s a beep emanating (oops! There goes my dehumidifier!😵💫) from where? Only the walls know. I have a love / hate relationship going on with my iPad. In the wee hours of the morning like now, it chooses to disturb my serenity with it’s stored up alerts. ( I know it waits on purpose 🥷). Frogs, crickets, phone rings and dog barks. It’s a zoo in here. 🙄 My heating pad is yelling at me in a foreign language. Probably telling me it’s getting ready to catch fire. Oh, well….I thought it’s been nice 🤷♀️.

This Noisy World
You are so funny and talented. Should take up comedy.😘
Lol What else does one have to do at 3:30 in the morning? Thanks, Bifield. I could never be a comic. I’m very shy. 😂
Yes, we do, but not always. I have to fill those times in between. I’m open for ideas, but nothing I can’t share with my therapist.
You want someone to give you an idea about what to do at 3.30am! How about sleep? Just a wild suggestion lol 😱
😂Sleep doesn’t work for me at night. I semi sleep. I read an article recently that during somewhere around medieval times, people slept in shifts. Part at night and part in the early morning. Documents from those times showed it was a common thing. How long ago it started is still a mystery. But I thank you for the suggestion. I guess I’m stuck in the medieval times.
Whatever suits you. I struggle with nights, I have been going into a panic but I can't explain why.
Night is a tough time for many. It’s dark, quiet and nothing to distract your thoughts. I hope it’s a temporary set back. I’m not sure if you’ve tried meds for the panic attacks? If those could lessen, you could sleep better.
Oh, yes. The outside noise. That could be another topic, too. Those are sounds we can’t muffle. They can’t be over run by louder noises, unless you live next door to a military base, which I do. I’ve gotten used to the sounds of nighttime war games and sonic booms that shake the windows. Ear plugs? Meh. Soft corks. Useless. Take your cupcakes to the fire station and ask them to lay off the horns in your neighborhood. I give brownies at Christmas to the hunky police at the station across my street and I stopped getting tickets. Any price for peace and a clean driving record.
You’re a true lady of the night…..I was gonna grate some carrot on my salad but thought better of it 😬
When the apocalypse happens half those sounds will be gone! 🔥 You can silence your iPad at night. PM me if you want help.
I’ve already figured out how to silence my iPad at night. A few well placed pillows and the noise soon fades away. But Siri has become a problem. She never shuts up. I should pm you. 👍🏼
yeah -- you can set a do not disturb schedule so you hear nothing at night. You can flag fav phone numbers to get through in case there are people that you do not want to miss in case of emergency.
Maybe I should do the beautiful sound in the song into the unknown 😂☺️
We’re all ears 👂🏼👂🏼👂🏼👂🏼
It’s very calming ☺️
The name of the song is…song in to the unknown?
It’s called into the unknown ☺️ from frozen 2 i love that song so much
You’ve peaked my interest now. I’ll have to YouTube it! Thank you, Hiba .
Your welcome 🙏☺️ its a very powerful song . Have you watched frozen 2 yet ? It’s a good movie
I feel you. Lately, I've been feeling more...upset? Sensitive? About all the noises and all I can think about is how alone and distortional is the word that I perceive. Is it normal? I wake up and I want turn off the noise
The world as it is now can make you feel like it’s distorted. It’s new and nothing we’ve experienced before. It can increase your anxiety or depression and make you more sensitive to your surroundings. I joke about the noise now, but I’ve wanted to turn it off like you. Noise is life and what I really wanted to do was to turn life off. But not seriously. Instead, I reached out all I could to find the way to calm the noise. You should do that. Scratch and claw and do whatever it takes. It’s a process, a journey, but so worth it.
If you wanna know something about me is that I love the journeys, I love reach experience, no matter how long or alone is the route. But I dunno, lately I want sleep and sleep, and when I take a walk I prefer do it with my headphones, I love the music, I love the mysterious noises that the world plays to me, but also, I love the harmony.
Oh! to live in a log cabin, with no technology at all, no TV, iphones, dehumidifiers, noisy washing machines, maybe a simple mobile for emergencies, no xmas lights, the 'quiet' sound of nature! [no noisy neighbours!]🤗🤗🤗
Have you ever experienced that before? Such quiet except for the sounds of nature? It was much easier to do way back when. Quiet wasn’t special, it was normal. I like the cabin scenario, but sometimes with some slow and low jazz in the background. ☺️
I have bad claustrophobia, maybe some Canned Heat playing in the background. 😎
Right on that!
I want to thank you for your hilarious post . Can't stop laughing now
My pleasure, T. It was a combo effort. Lots of humor can be found on HU…..
