You need at least 3 of the above symptoms to be diagnosed with bipolar.
Shock horror. Out of the 8 symptoms listed, I have 7. WTF. Even I didn't know this.
There are 2 types of BD.
Bipolar 1, (where the above symptoms last for 7 days or more).
Bipolar 2, which is the same, but the episodes do not last as long ... 4 days. I have Bipolar 2.
I gained this information from numerous postings on the internet, youtube, which was also confirmed by 2 mental health professionals.

12 months ago was when I experienced my last extreme BD episode. It was only then, that I accepted the diagnoses, (given to me by no less than 5 clinicians).
My amazing shrink put me on medication that thankfully is working. It enables me to control the crazy symptoms, probably by 90%.
