Howdy all, i'm new here and excited to listen and learn from all of you, and to share my experiences.

I currently suffer from pretty bad health anxiety, but am learning how to handle it and how to thrive with it constantly being with me. I will say it's hard dealing with it sometimes, being hyper vigilant about every little ache/pain/feeling in my body gets tiring. The panic attacks are exhausting as well.

Anyone have any basic advice or resources to use to help cope?

Try guided meditation on YouTube just google or relax with music or choose any topic of interest

Welcome to this amazing forum shadowsoze.Dealing with Health Anxiety daily can be very draining on both your

body and mind. Many years ago when I developed these same symptoms

I turned to a book by Dr. Claire Weekes on "Hope & Help for Your Nerves"

It's a book on Acceptance of Anxiety and how that first step can send you on

a path of success.

As Foggy123 suggested, YouTube has many Meditation videos on controlling

anxiety and panic. Finding the root of your health anxiety can help immensely.

Whatever steps you take first, I'm glad you found us also.

Ive been suffering with anhiety and depression many years. The worse for me was handle is psysical pain, I couldnot get up from bad sometimes, been going to work with horrible pain and tears in my eyes, every single day. Had weeks i had to miss job, as i couldnot handle it. Only way how i found out i can handle it it is complictly change my life style.I left my hairdressing job, as it couse me loads of stress and went to work in the werehouse, where i walk alot.

Started go to the gym atleast 5 times per week in the morning before my work.

Started to walk till work 40 minutes.

Stopped to drink alkohol,coffee, eat sweets and unhealthy food.

Trying to walk atleast 10k steps per day.

The most interesting thing, ones i stop to exersise and starting eat unhealthy my anxiety coming back with pain.

Health anxiety has a lot to do with an overt need to be in control. Learning and practicing mindfulness is a good way to learn to detach from our anxious thoughts and feelings and surrender to the flow of life. Realizing and accepting what you can control and not control is key to healing. You might also make sure your hormones (testosterone), thyroid and adrenals are functioning properly, if not, they can cause or contribute to anxiety/depression. Dr. Claire Weekes book is really good as well as the DARE Anxiety book by Barry McDonaugh. He has an app for your phone that I found very helpful as well as good youtube videos, especially the ones by Michelle Cavanaugh.
