I have been taking sertraline for about 11 months now and to be honest more time goes on more i wonder if it is good for me. Anyway recently i have been having quite significantly bad mood swings!! Never really had them anywhere near this bad before and gone from having few to no periods past 2 years due to my contraception to bleeding, spotting 3 weeks out of 4 every month. Ive also put on weight and cant get rid of it and have been so much sadder l9w and suicidal.. also more angry and agitated lately which i have never been!!! Im also ill alot more at the moment and am throwing up more days than not. Have all tests done at doctors and everything has come back fine so am wondering if my sertraline has taken a sudden turn on me maybe? It never really helped properly just got me through the day with alot of work but this is really knocking me!! Especially the mood swings and constant bleeding... any advice? Anyone in the same position?

Does sertraline affect your homones
Hi, friend. I'm on sertraline & the BC pill, & have been there. Sertraline does not affect hormones, just your serotonin. It does sound like you're going through something hormonal, though. My best advice to you is this: Journal your symptoms every day & track your cycle, and I implore you to research PMDD & PME--you may gain some insight, because what you describe is familiar. (I'm not a doc, so pls talk to your doc about further diagnosis)Again, document your daily moods/symptoms & chart your cycle. Having that data logged is powerful info for you & your doc to get you proper treatment. Take care, & be well xx
I'm no medical expert but have plenty of experience of women's health problems and to me, what you're describing sounds exactly like the menopause! Has your doctor explored this possibility?
Is it possible your menopausal?
Hi there your symptoms seem very similar to the peri menopause. Which is what am goin through . Make a appointment with your gp asp xx
