Early Christmas Present!

Got myself an early Christmas Present.

It’s a table top telescope for observing the Moon, Stars, Asteroids etc etc.

I’m no expert, this is a Starter Scope for amateurs, looking foreward to setting it up and start viewing! 😀

That's not much fun. You'll be watching the stars while she vacuums. You'll have to share the telescope!

I hope Santa brings me one, too. Hint. Hint. If you’re out there, Santa, you can come in through the front door this year instead of the chimney. 😁Let me knowVeteran250 when you see him. 🔭

Sounds good. I want a hot chocolate machine but the hot chocolate should taste real not fake. I used to make my own hot chocolate with dairy milk and bournville chocolate bars and fresh cream, but its a bit time consuming so not made it myself for ages. I'll give it a try in the Christmas holidays.

That’s part of the holidays and festivities. Bringing out those special recipes and treats. Homemade hot chocolate! Yum!

I bought the Hotel Chocolat chocolate maker as an early Christmas present for myself about 3 years ago. It's lovely but I don't use it very often - just a treat occasionally. It uses their sachets of flaked chocolate but I'm sure I could make my own.

Your recipe sounds good😋

I don't think the hot chocolate machine will live up to the quality of hot chocolate that I want so I didn't buy it. A much better version can be made at home with good quality chocolates. Just using dairy milk and bournville chocolate is as good as the Real hot chocolate I use to buy from a dessert place I use to go to. I'm sure if I bought better quality chocolates I would get even better results.

Home made hot chocolate 😋 Here's my version 🍫🥛

I've never made it from scratch so to speak, so I have nothing to compare it to , but I can imagine how much better it would be. I love the look of it from your photo. None of the places local to me do real hot chocolate- it all seems to be the 'drinking chocolate ' variety.

My hot chocolate does contain a lot of chocolate and non of the powdered stuff. But I would only make it as a treat for me and my family. I don't see the point of making a healthier version as it wouldn't taste the same. I use to chop the chocolate pieces and warm it in a small amount of milk and let it melt then would add the remaining milk and heat. Then I'd add the whipped double cream to the hot chocolate once it was served in the mug. My friend added cream to her hot chocolate as it was being made but I felt that would weaken the chocolate taste.

Oooh, sounds absolutely delicious. I agree- no point in trying to make a healthier version. As you say though, a treat .

Don looks like you've got a fun toy to play with. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. Get your wife a vacuum cleaner but not as a Christmas present. A present is something she should enjoy having. Hoovering is a chore not an enjoyment 😊

Zara my lovely, the choice for the vaquum cleaner was my wife’s idea, I would never buy her any such thing as a present, I have actually arranged for her to have a Spa Break with her Sister, but my wife knows nothing about it…lol 🤣

That's great Don. I'm sure she'll have a great time at the spa. I'm sure it was your wife's choice to buy a vacuum cleaner because I use to be the same. But now I've changed my ways. A real present is a treat for myself not something to help me around the house 😄

Have you managed to spot the comet yet? it's somewhere fairly near to Saturn at the moment I believe. Was Your telescope expensive, please? We have vast skies here in Wales and I would love to get a telescope.

Cheers, Midori

My scope is a Celestron Firstscope for beguinners, I purchased it from the Shop at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, London…. Cost £69.99.

You take it out of the box and it’s ready to use.

Have you heard of “ whistle while you work”? A brand new vacuum would give me great pleasure. Of course something in a blue box sitting next to it under the tree would be welcomed too. 😂

My wife wanted a G-### because its lighter to use, and has a bonus hand held vaquum too, ideal for stairs and car👏👏👏👏🙂

Just the ticket. Something to make the work easier. A def bonus.

My mum recently got a sharks one which has a detachable hand held part that can be used alone on the stairs. It's better then getting multiple vacuums. I've got 4 different Dyson ones all bought at different times as I struggle to use my main dyson ball as its too heavy for me as I have RA. The last time I used it and Hoovered my whole house like any other day I ended up in A&E. Never again......after that I bought the Dyson cordless which is great and two others ones I don't even use, a hand held one and another one which doesn't do anything when it comes to picking up dust.
