Hi this is Shnookie. Your sentiment is sweet about Christmas, except there R people like me who R Jewish and R finishing celebrating Chanukah a holiday of joy and liberation from slavery. There R other people who have different beliefs a d faiths who don’t celebrate Christmas. Now in the ast, I have gone to friend’s Christmas parties that I have enjoyed. The point I’m making, is that people need to have a more global perspective of the world 🌎. Learning about different cultures and religions will make it easier for people to get along with each other. I wish U a joyous and merry Christmas 🎁🎄 and that we have a more peaceful and positive 2021.

I’m here 4 U. Hug 🤗 shnookie

Nice way to explain it! I grew up with little sentiment and lots of commercialization so I am not a fan of Christmas. I do have a Hindi friend who takes a different approach that is nice. Anyone who knows her knows she has other holidays. When someone says merry Christmas or happy Chanukah or happy kwanza they are sharing the joy of their holiday with you. Unfortunately in this country it is often used as a way to impose one holiday on everyone else and of course we are far more diverse and have been for a long time. But maybe sharing that sentiment is a path to acceptance.

You didn’t. I can’t speak for @shnookie but I don’t get that impression. To paraphrase Brenè brown...Consider it a gift when people felt okay to explain it in a respectful way. I wish for more of that in my life.

I’m 😢. I grew up Catholic. We were taught to respect other beliefs. I respect your beliefs but not intolerance.

what does intolerance mean

It's going to be a strange holiday season but I am ready for it!!! I couldn't give gifts this year, but I did send my parents a nice card. I told my family not to worry about getting me anything. On Christmas day I'm reading aloud a little bit from the Bible I have about when Jesus was born, since I'm not going to a church service Christmas Eve, I felt like I should do something religious. I'm making a nice dinner on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day I am dressing up in a skirt just because I feel like it!!!! I hardly ever dress up anymore, even though I'm not going anywhere, it is Christmas and that's what I feel like doing. Wishing everyone out there a wonderful holiday season!!!!!!!🌟
