When I went off benzos recently after years I noticed that having calming tea helped and also staying busy. I talked to my therapist each week to keep me grounded as well. I wrote down each day where I was at and it helped just to get my feelings out each day and keep track of what was going on on the journey.

I just thought of something else. Could you split it in half and take half for a few weeks?

Hi Mike it’s Shnookie. Clonozapem is a class 11 Strong. Benzo. U need to be under your therapists supervision to lower the amount. I’m on 1 mg daily of the Med. It does have an afterlife. Sometimes I can be a little groggy the next morning. I can regulate the dosage under my therapist’s supervision. I also never drive my car when I take the take Klonopin it can make me drowsy. I’m here 4 U. U can personally Mesa get me. Hugs 🤗 S

Thank you very much snookie

I will re-post what I said to another member on the subject of Klonopin/Clonazepam, tapers. Just to be open, I have dealt with Clonazepam, so I speak from a personal point of view. It is always good to start with the advice of the prescriber.

You taper very, very slowly, it should never be a sprint, instead it should be a marathon. You want to taper slow enough to be able to live your daily life as normal as possible. Let your symptoms dictate how long you hold each reduction.

Here is a link to the Benzobuddies forum. They have a discussion dedicated to those who want to learn how to taper off Klonopin/Clonazepam. It is helpful to have like minded people to support you.

You can do this, just be sure to educate yourself before you begin the process.

Hello Mike233. The link I've given you goes into detail about the best way to get off any benzo. It is very dependable.

I have also been talking clozepham for about 1 year now and I always feel and it's difficult to stop for me too and need for doses keep increasing but last week I tried to avoid having it for few days and it obviously have been difficult by coping technique helps a lot.

in reply to De183

As long as you decrease your dose just a tiny bit, then hold that decrease for two weeks, or more, depending on how you feel, you will be able to adjust, comfortably. 🌿 Clonazepam has a long half-life, it stays in your system for a couple of days.

I'm tried several times to reduce and stop but it's difficult to carry out my daily activities due to severe anxiety forgot at going out even a little chores at home becomes so difficult.

I understand exactly what you are saying, De183.💗

Perhaps you are cutting your dose too much? This should be done in such small, small increments. May I ask how much Clonazepam you are prescribed to take each day? You most certainly do not have to answer this question, so please feel free to decline. No offense will be taken at all.

Only 0.5g but I buy it and started to have almost 4 tablets a day which I don't even inform my doctor as I'm scarred they will cut down and I cannot afford it and on that I had a Alcohol addiction when I stop this which makes my anxiety worse and feeling hopeless often.

in reply to De183

I see, this helps, thank-you. You are taking 0.05 milligrams, 4x per day. While this is a high dose, it can be reduced, safely. I understand your hesitancy to speak with your doctor, although you may be surprised to find out that he is more understanding than you realize.

If you are not ready to talk with your doctor, than I will strongly suggest that you visit the BenzoBuddies Forum. They are a non-judgmental forum consisting of members just like yourself, who are looking for support and encouragement. They have many methods to help those who are looking to discontinue benzodiazepines.

Please visit the forum, even if all you do is read for now, You can join when you feel ready. I believe that knowledge is power, the more informed you become the stronger you become.

Hopefully you will find the support you need there and the feelings of hopelessness will begin to go away, There is always hope De183, you just have to believe this and take the first step forward. 🙏🏻
