You have not been on this medication long enough, it takes five weeks until you feel any changes. Be patient keep taking your medication, it is not a very high dose
Yes, it can. I believe it says in the booklet as well. SSRI has tendency to do so. See if you can help to reduce your anxiety since it takes time to see full effectof Prozac. Personally i found 5HTPs add on to work for me to ease the anxiety. Yet i would consult your doctor first.
I have been on that dose every other day for a long time now. It did help me, but I can’t take any more than a small dose. It does cause anxiety as most meds do for me that I have tried. But Prozac has worked the best.
Yes, it is very common that the anxiety gets worse before it gets better. My doctor verified that. He gave me some low-dose Xanax to take when needed while getting used to the SSRI, which was a life-saver.
Hi I've been put on fluexotine (Prozac) 20mg four weeks ago. I won't lie the first three weeks I found horrific, sweats, shakes, upset stomach, no appetite, even lower mood, majorly increased anxiety, anxiety attacks. After two weeks I phoned my GP back sobbing telling her i was cracking up and getting worse and couldn't control how bad the anxiety now was. She reassured me it was the Prozac getting into my system and it made things worse before better. She give me propanol and diazepam to help me until the medication started to settle into my system. I'm at four weeks now and touch wood the shakes, internal trembling, sweats, loss of appetite upset stomach have all settled down. I'm still experiencing short bursts but no where near as frightening as what they were. When the anxiety is starting I'm able to distract myself and fight it alot better than I could in the first three weeks. My Dr said at least six weeks possibly even 12 to feel and see the full effects of the medication working. So I'm being patient and riding it out as best I can x
