Hey there, I'm actually new here...I've been struggling with anxiety and depression for many years already. Ive tried many different treatment options but nothing seems to work. What do you do when nothing works, youre so dead done and lonely and all u want is to die? Any advice?

Hello & Welcome :-)

So sorry you feel this way at such a young age but anxiety and depression does not care how old or young you are when it affects us :-)

Now you have found a Community with like minded people feeling the same way I hope this will help you to know you are not alone and that there is hope :-)

I go a lot on You Tube , looking up relaxation , meditation , it can help you escape from feeling the way you do

Keep talking about how you feel I find that helps to :-) x

You've tried many different treatments that don't work. So why not try one treatment that will work?

Claire Weekes, 'the woman who cracked the anxiety code', claimed that her self-help method enables anybody to recover if they are willing to practice what she teaches and are persistent.

David Barlow, Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at Boston University, has written that since she launched her method tens of millions have recovered due to her method.

You can read about Claire Weekes' method in 'Hope and help for your nerves' available new or second hand on the internet. It will bring you understanding, reassurance - and a plan for your recovery. Well worth reading if you haven't already.

The same book is also published under the title 'Self help for your nerves'. You can pick one up on ebay or Amazon new or used. Her method is based on temporarily accepting the symptoms of anxiety rather than constantly fighting them (which only causes moore strain and stress and anxiety hormones). She explains everything, so much so that you think she knew you personally.

I want you to know that you are not alone. We are here for you. Have you talked with a doctor about how you are feeling? It's possible you need a new doctor if you are unhappy with how things are going lately. It took a few years and a few different doctors to figure out what was best for me, so don't give up. Reach out to a friend and let them know how you are feeling. Hugs to you!

Know you are not alone. I have been battling anxiety my whole life, I’m 62. .. 7-8 hours of sleep each night, lack of sleep is anxiety fuel. 45 minutes of daily cardio exercise to produce endorphins that battle your anxiety and depression. A 5-10 minute pure cold shower daily. To shock the anxiety and depression right out of you. Look it up on the internet. Then find a good dr if you need more. Have a dream! Try to think positive! Sometimes we have to help ourselves. Know we care about you. Even though we have never met, we know your struggle. Some of us believe in a creator. That would make us all brothers and sisters. So that’s why it’s important to me that you learn to take control of this. Read my profile, if I can make it, anyone can. Once you learn to manage it, you have to pay it forward. So jump in the 55-58 degrees shower for 10 minutes. If you are healthy. Then don’t turn the hot water back on to warm up. Warm up slowly with sweats on . Then email me back tomorrow to let me know how good it was. Catch water in a pan and check the temperature to 55-58.. the cold water shocks your brain to release happy stuff. Oh the calm and confidence that comes after is incredible. It’s been around for 100 years. But Wim Hof brought it back lately. Read what he went through with his wife and 4 babies. He and I are addicted.

Problem is that i dont have energy to exercise, or even to dance, have no appetite and also have terrible insomnia... will see abt trying the shower thing. dont know if i can handle it now..

Read about Wim hofs wife . The cold water saved him he credits. I vouch for it too. In 30 minutes I’m going in my swimming pool that’s way too cold to swim in for most people. I will dog paddle around in it for 30 minutes. And I will have hope and calm when I get out. Just try the 5 minute pure cold shower no warm water. You will feel a surge of things happen in your body.. all for the better., now if you have poor health and a weak heart you might have to pass .. but if you are healthy.. but just mentally whipped.. try it .. what have you to lose

It’s just cold water? Please read about him and what his wife put him through. The cold water held it together for him. I have been in a bad place battling rare cancer for 12 months. Then they replaced my sternum. I am like a wounded animal in his hole. The cold water was instrumental in my recovery. I am in remission 18 months. But take a guy with an anxiety disorder and put him through this ., your family needs you to try.. and a real cold shower is the first place to start.. the first 2-3 weeks are rough.. but after that you are addicted.. it will help you sleep.. it will help you eat . It will help you excercise

Either before, or after your 45 minutes of cardio. Or your cold shower.

I would advise reading a book called The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. It helps with positivity and helps you set goals and targets. Also change your username to a positive one!!! Any time you feel low jump on here. Always people about.

meantime, embrace your depression, don't fight it. Thats another struggle. Don't punish yourself, just do the best you can. Its so hard at the bottom. Are you in treatment? All the good stuff people offer is slow coming with me too. But it will and does come with help from whatever sources, spiritual or otherwise, thats around.

My doctor upped my sertraline and my baseline was much less sad. I wasn’t cured but it def helped. Do you live in an area where you can safely walk outside? Can you try a 2-3-minute walk today? Then come back here and tell me about it

Hi , I wanted to let you know that you and others like us is the reason I come here . Not to try and save anyone . The opposite . You all save me . To know there are other caring people that struggle and suffer as I do helps me to not feel so alone . Some times it helps me to remind my self , if nothing else , I am here to witness this human condition that we endure . In doing so I see the suffering , at the same time I am surprised at the little joys I see . I hope you will strive to be a witness . Its hard work but totally worth it . The world needs people like you .I am agnostic so I have no spiritual answer other than you are here to witness humanity and

tell your truths . You belong in this world , and I respect you so much for your bravery in coming here . You found a community that cares for you and about you .
