As I've seen, it really depends on the person. I can't sleep because of my paranoia, anxiety, and hallucinations. Other people just physically don't feel tired. Some people are scared of the dark, or the night, or shadows, or other things associated with sleep. What I've personally been using is ASMR. I've found it helps me block out most things and I'm only focused on the visuals and the sound. Once I've been distracted for long enough, I typically fall asleep between 2 and 4.
I wish I knew the answer. I can never have a normal sleep. I’m awake all night and when I do fall asleep I wake up 2 or 3 hours later wide awake. I think for me it’s that for my whole life I got by on sooo little sleep and honestly I could now if I didn’t develop epilepsy. Little sleep makes me have seizures so I HAVE to sleep. If I was single it would be better because I could just sleep here and there but my bf insists I be up when he’s up. I know melatonin helps many and sometimes guided meditation helps me sleep but only if I’m somewhat tired(it is excellent for panic attacks though).
