I lied about my age

I am 31 and recently joined an organization were my colleagues are mostly in the early or mid 20s. I was recently asked if i was 29 and I said yes without thinking and was then too scared to correct. Now i am worried sick thinking about all the scenarios that might come up that might be too embarrassing for me when people find out i lied. I have not lied on my records or on paper, just when talking to colleagues.

When it comes down to it, no other adult cares if you’re 29 or 31 and they’ll just forget. Even if age comes up in convo they’ll probably think they misheard you before

Since 25, I can’t remember how old I am without doing math. Just say you were having a bad math day if it comes up.

Why did they want to know? Does the person want to start dating you? Are they just asking to find something in common? Either way, you have answered truthfully: you are indeed every age you have already been.

I think you answered the question in the spirit it was probably meant, which is not too seriously.

Assuming they even REMEMBER! Make a joke… 29 in spirit or I have the mental capacity of a 27 year old 29 is splitting the difference. Really it isn’t on peoples minds. Try to think of someone’s age… can you really tell the difference between 29 and 31 or do you think “around 30”?
