Does anyone take Lithium for depression? I am not bipolar but I have been taking Lithium and Mirtizapine for several years now. I had a tox screen at the beginning of the year and was told that at 1 (?) it was too high and I needed it retested. That's been done and my GP reduced my dose and retested. I've spent a miserable 3 weeks on the lower dose and I've just received a text (yes really) saying my test is normal and needs no further action. I'm not happy, I have a constant headache, I cry and I am so irritable it's scary. I don't know what to do

What does you doctor suggest? You can't be on a dose that isn't working for you. You need to advocate for yourself, and insist change. Blood levels probably mean you're not at a toxic level. How can it possibly measure how well you are doing? I hope you find a resolution to this soon.
I've been on 300 mg a day for about 6 months. I don't think it's helping me so I'm going to ask my psy. dr. to come off of it.
Hi! I have been on Lithium and it didn’t work for me. It can be challenging to manage and it didn’t help me at all as I have EUPD but my GP thought it might helps with the moods.
My lithium was reduced due to having constant diarrhoea and not much joy with my moods. I’m on Mirtzapine now which I don’t feel is working. It’s completely up to you. Maybe speak to your doctor and ask about other options etc.
Hope someone, somewhere can help
