Lexapro for anxiety?

Have been playing the antidepressant roulette wheel and just started Lexapro 5mg for anxiety. Has Lexapro helped anybody else with their anxiety?

Hello, it does help give it some time. The first couple weeks you might experience weird feelings, i.e. dizziness, insomnia, mild anxiety but trust me it will pass and you will feel better. I was taking 20mg my last time using it and I felt good minus the weight gain 🙄🙂

The past few days I have felt my anxiety increase. Last night had a panic attack about going to sleep and this morning literally started crying for almost no reason while in the kitchen. I am wondering if I should continue this medication. I am only just 3+ weeks in but I am feeling intense increases to my anxiety. I know you can feel worse before feeling better but this seems a bit much as far as side effects go.

Yes that happened to me also while starting to take this medication. I wanna say hang in there but I know it's easier said than done. I don't remember if you mentioned your dose but you'll be ok. If you decide to change meds just be careful because as horrible as you feel now coming off them is the same feeling. I don't mean to "scare" you. It I'm just being honest.

Thanks, it's good to hear it first hand from somebody who has already gone through it. Also yeah I know, I have had to come off meds before and it can be hell. I am currently on 5mg of Lexapro. I was on 200mg of Zoloft previously but it just didn't help treat my anxiety. Which is why I am on Lexapro now.

Ok well I know lexapro will work for your anxiety and panic attacks because it helped me tremendously. If you ever need more advice or just to vent message me. 👍🏻

Hi! I’ve been on lexapro for about a year now, and it really helped me with my anxiety. It has especially gotten my panic attacks under control! Had some weird side o effects for about a week, but it really helped me get my life back on track and manage my anxiety

I've been taking Lexapro and Wellbutrin for a while now and that combination has been wonderful for me. My only side effect was being very tired the first couple weeks. Good luck to you! 😊

Lexapro has helped me greatly. I have anxiety and depression. I have been on lexapro for about the past 2 years. I havent had any symptoms.

I been on lexpro for two years i feel way better since i started taking it . I suffered from the anxiety for almost three years ' I was on remeron for 8 months and it never worked then the doctor changed it to lexpro
