Cough and alprazolam ( xanax)

I might be going crazy !

Does anyone out there notice a link between xanax and cough. I am trying to figure out the cause of my sudden cough at time. I woke up at 4:00am took .25mg to help me go back to sleep. Here comes the dry cough at 6:00 am, needless to say i didn’t sleep much : (

Has anyone noticed that xanax might cause this dry cough. I have been coughing off and on at night and i am trying to figure it out. I don’t take xanax regularly either.

Ive taken Xanax mainly as needed and never noticed coughing as a side effect. I looked up rare and common side effects and cough wasnt listed. Dry mouth was listed as a common side effect which could cause coughing. ,25 is a low amount so you would expect less effects in general. I would keep a log of when you take it and when you experience the coughing. Then speak with your doctor about other options.

I dont think the cough is from Xanax. my advise dont take X its really bad stuff if you ever decide not to take anymore, trust me
