Hello! I was wondering if anyone could offer some words of wisdom or maybe just some encouragement. I was on Zoloft for about 6 weeks but i had the worst side effects on it so I got switched to lexapro. Lexapro was working well for me but my lows were very low and I was just very sad for days on end. I stopped taking lexapro a little over a week ago ( with my doctors approval) and I have never felt this bad before. My thoughts are just awful and I’m just in a very bad place mentally. My brain tells me I’m going to feel like this forever even though deep down I know this isn’t true. I guess my question is would it be beneficially to find a new med? I just want to feel okay again, I can’t keep living like this . Thank you .

Hi how are you doing? What kinda. Wisdom are you needing?😊
I know how you feel about lexapro. I have been on it for a few months and I have days where I am so sad and just feel nothing inside. I have not been able to see Dr yet about dosage change.Don't give up hope, your Dr can help you find the right meds. for you.
Absolutely you need to continue talking to your doc.. sometimes we need to try more than just two meds... wonder aSo if u gave it enough time. I started Zoloft in jan and had to increase to 150mg and just about now feeling the effect, tho still anxious. But give it a try w another one. Describe your side effects and how you feel in detail to your doc. There are hundreds of antidepressants out there. Don’t give up. There is help. Much love to u ❤️
I take Zoloft 100mg and it took a full 8 weeks before it kicked in.I fought through the side effects and I am now back to my old self.
You have to stay the course.
I took Lexapro prior to Zoloft, but it never worked, even after 8 weeks.
FYI, I take the brand, not the generic Sertraline, as Sertraline does even come close to having the same effects as the brand.
The brand is very expensive in the USA, a 30 day supply is $400.
I get it from Canada where a 90 day supply is $100.
Ask your doc for a script for the brand, and make sure he writes DAW - Dispense as Written.
If not the script will be filled with the generic.
Check out pharmacies in Canada, where you can upload the script.
I use buylowdrugs.com
Good luck..
There are many medication options out there, I would encourage talking with your doctor and figuring out a combination of what can help you. I'm so glad that you are taking care of yourself and that you understand that you don't have to feel so low. I will pray you find the right meds soon!
