I’ve been on Sertraline 50mg for a year and 6 months now. I have spoken to the doctor about coming off it in a few months time. This would obviously be a gradual process.
However my doctors is awful with prescriptions and mine was late. Therefore I haven’t had the medication for 4 days now. I’ve been feeling sick and dizzy but that could be related to other health conditions (I also have endometriosis). I called the doctor to make an appointment today to speak with them about what to do but they never called for my appointment.
So my question is - Now that I have my medication after 4 days of not taking it, do I take it again as normal and wait to speak with my doctor about coming off it or do I just not take it again??

So if I am reading this right and you are not stopping yet but your doctor didn’t fill the RX? Go to the pharmacy and ask them for temporary few days worth and also have them contact your doctor for a refill. Sometimes that is easier. You should be able to take a normal dose. I’m from the states. Idk if the process is more complicated elsewhere.
Thank you for the advice, unfortunately the pharmacy here doesn’t work like that. The doctor has to approve the prescription and it can take up to a week with my doctor.
But yes you’re right can’t go slowly when I didn’t have any. Maybe it’s best to start taking it again and wait for an appointment with the doctor next week to talk about reducing it
Are you sure? They will give out a couple days worth because it can be dangerous to go without. Hospitals will too. It isn’t something they advertise. You have to ask.
Maybe start looking for another doctor too. Prescriptions are so easy with software. The doctor just clicks approval and off it goes. No need to wait a week. Maybe yours isn’t caught up.
