I can't focus in any studies my parents always say that I am just not studying and all but I just can't.

I always feel so worthless and hopeless and useless like i have no place in this world

I have no will do to do anything and waking me up in the morning is a hasale even my parents has to remind me that I have to eat that's just how unmotivated I am my sleep schedule is a mess too I don't have know when I sleep sometimes at 10 or even at 2 or 3

I have no time management

And I am scared to talk to people's my parents always say that it's just shyness but for me it's not I am genuinely scared to talk to people I get sweaty and feel like throwing up whenever I have to talk to strangers

I am very insecure about my looks too whenever someone looks at me I feel like they are judging meh

I am very introverted so it's hard for me to make frnds

So what should I do to atleast get some good grades and not to be a burden to my parents

How are you sweety

You seem to be having a rough time. Are you seeing a therapist? I am concerned that you only have negitive staff to say about yourself. I hope you are not comparing yourself to others. Yes, we need to compare from a good place to know how good we are and be challenged in order to be better but we are born looking differently. We can't all look like superstars but we need to be confident with how we look. I believe you look good but your problem is in your mind and I am sure of it bcz your words are negetive. As for your parents thinking that you are not studying, have they done anything to help you like getting Saturday classes, tutors, etc? I am asking because parents usually employ other methods when they believe their children are having tough time at school. I know you are clever because I do not believe there is any person on earth who is stupid. We are here for you if you want to talk.

I want to let you know that you DO matter, no matter how worthless you may feel. And you're not useless; the fact that you come here and sharing your struggles and asking for help is already a big step towards helping yourself getting better.

Maybe you could try by setting up a regular sleeping schedule and making sure you are eating and eating well (that means little or no junk food!). Also, going for a walk when the sun is still bright and shining; exposure to sunlight can help you sleep better at night. Taking care of your body first will indefinitely benefit your mind to have the energy and motivation to study.

And if you are still feeling unmotivated, you could start by listening to music with great beats and positive lyrics. I'm not sure what your favourite genre of music is, but I'd like to share a list of songs I listen to when I'm feeling unmotivated :

"OK Not To Be OK" - Marshmello, Demi Lovato

"Fight Song" - Rachel Platten

"Stand By You" - Rachel Platten

"Scars To Your Beautiful" - Alessia Cara

"This Is Me" - Kesha

"I Am Invincible" - Cassadee Pope

I hope the above tips are helpful to you. Remember that change is difficult, but even a baby step of improvement counts. 😁

Hi Blaircoultrap,

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way. These sounds like symptoms of depression. Have you been diagnosed with depression or anxiety? If you're suffering from either then it's difficult for you to be motivated until you get it sorted out whether that's through meds or counselling or both. You are not a burden to your parents! You're their child and they are there to protect, teach, provide for you and look after your health. I think you should have a heart felt talk with your parents. If you can't explain to them what you're going through then Google depression and social anxiety disorders for them to read so that they can be informed as to how serious mental illnesses are and it will help them to understand why you can't focus on your studies at the moment.

Being introverted suits some people but others like you and me being so closed off from others because of social anxiety we miss out on social and emotional development, communication and interaction, physical development and ordering and exploring the world around you. It's through interaction that we learn from others experiences and viewpoints. It's where fresh ideas and inspiration propels us forward. It's when we don't have that connection or contact we stagnate. We're stuck.

Extroverts find it easy to speak to people and make friends easily because they don't analyse or overthink things and because they have many social experiences they can relate and carry conversations forward. Where as an introvert might only speak when they need to but an introvert with social anxiety will be thinking a dozen negative thoughts, getting anxious and sweating.I believe extroverts with social/general anxiety disorders need to be taught social skills and we need to be told that we need to stop judging people on how we think they might judge us. In other words, stop us putting our words on how we judge ourselves into their mouths. They don't think these things at all and even if they did, we need to learn not to care. Communication is a social skill. It's training, practicing talking to people.

When I was growing up I hid myself from others and avoided things I thought I was a failure at but also through lack of motivation and mental illness. Now when I speak I find I don't have the vocabulary and I stammer a little. I've learned not to think that everyone is judging me and risk making mistakes and not to beat myself up and obsess over them. Now if I've said something stupid or dumb🤪 I say to myself, " let it go, let it go." I refuse to dwell on it. You can learn to do the same!
