I am finally seeking those who know the struggle of dealing with anxiety. I have battled it off and on most of my life. The anxiety I feel is usually triggered by stressful events in my life. Most pass and resolve but I can't seem to catch a stride lately. I hope this group can be a light in the darkness as we all travel in the shadow of anxiety and depression.

welcome aboard hopefully being here gets you back on track.
Hi and welcome to our group of caring people. I fight anxiety most days and started taking medication a month ago. I’m feeling better after my visit with a psychiatrist that seems to have prescribed the right meds for me. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right meds and after trial and effort, I think I’m doing better. I hope you can visit with a psychiatrist, not an m.d. but a doc that specializes with anxiety and depression. Hope this helps you. Bless you and know that there is a cure for anxiety and you won’t always suffer
Yeah welcome aboard. Your post really resonates with me. I think you are on a very similar track to me. I've recently been blessed with a promotion that's a little more stressful. I took the job knowing that going in, I'm hoping to stretch myself. Thusfar, the stress and anxiety strategies I've picked up over the years are holding. Honestly, maybe I'm a little alone in this, I'm ok with this. Life doesn't owe me anything and I don't have to be ok with it all that's going on all the time.God speed.
I am grateful for the promotion but being in a leadership role makes me anxious. Being an introvert does not always suit well with being in charge of a group. Which strategies have you found to be effective for you?
I'm an introvert too.I took on a leadership promotion 11years ago, and since it's been a progression to larger teams, larger business groups.
For the anxiety, in hindsight, setting boundaries with myself has helped. If/when I get conscious of the negative thoughts I'll take a 10 - 15 min break from the task/activity before returning to it. I even go so far as to set a timer on my watch to get me to go back into the thing.
As an introvert, I bet you're pretty conscious about what the individuals of your group expect of you. It can really add to you anxiety, but it's also your secret power. Use this sensitivity to craft your direction to each person, individually.
