That’s what you get from this quote? “Unnoticed”? You are the master of the house, you acknowledge your guests, you treat them kindly but you don’t identify yourself with them! That is the enlightenment. What would you do with muddy water? Do you stir it up or leave it alone until it settles to a clear water? You don’t suppress your thoughts and you don’t disturb yourself with them either. You can be at peace while you can bring yourself back to your clarity.
