Very depressed today

NiBa5 profile image
21 Replies

I've been on a recovery from PAWS (Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms) since I came off Lexapro. It's like a brain trauma. Brain recovery is slow.

I've been getting better. But I feel very depressed without any specific reason today. I feel so lonely.

I’m so sorry to hear that. It seems to be a day for it. I’m super depressed today myself, and can’t seem to break out of it. Are you getting on a new medication?

Thank you for reaching out. Yes I've been on Fluoxetine 40.mg that seems working very slowly. It's very hard to deal with depressive mood. I hope you'll feel better. Are you on a med? Hugs

Yes, a lot of them. 7 total. I just recently was inpatient for almost two weeks. It helped with the anxiety, but the depression is awful. It seems that all the meds I’ve tried are very slow acting too, and don’t seem to work.

7....sound a lot. How long have you been on them? I truly hope they'll help you.

I only take Flu for 13 months now. Yes psychotropics are so slow acting ...too slow. It's frustrating.

I was also hospitalized for several weeks a year ago. It helped me eat and sleep but that's all.

Yeah, same here. I was able to sleep and eat better, but not much help besides that. Some of the things they teach for coping skills are just inaffective. The anxiety meds are helping, but not the depression, I’ve been on about 4 of them for months, but they added more at the hospital.

I remember the same. Coping skills were not effective for me. I agree ....anxiety med was helped me and they kept me to adjust a dosage of Fluoxetine and Mirtazapine for sleep. I don't remember how I drove on the way back home after they discharged me....my condition was bad.

I bet, luckily you made it safe. My daughter picked me up.

My car was outside of the hospital for nearly a month.... I just went to there to get a med.

Are you ok to take 7 meds? Psychotropic meds tend to make us drowsy. So I don't want to take many. I chose Fluoxetine since it doesn't make me drowsy.

I’m not drowsy on mine.

Oh it's good to hear your meds don't make you drowsy. I tried Sertraline before I take Fluoxetine at a hospital but it made me like a zombie....I was so drowsy.

How are you doing today? Hope you have a better day.

I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling this way. That was me yesterday. No sun and the night before was full of panic attacks. Wishing you better days ahead♥️

Hello

How's your day going so far? I'm so sorry you had panic attacks at night. It sounds so uncomfortable. I used to have a panic attack as soon as I woke up. I think Mirtazapine at night helped me (I don't take it anymore now). I think it was one of those withdrawal symptoms.

I feel a bit better now. My brain is not functioning as it used to be but its manageable now. I ate a lot that helped me. It takes so long time for a brain to regain equilibrium....sigh

I’m glad you’re better. I’m ok. I walked my dog and I’m enjoying just sitting with the sun on my back. Yes, it sure does take some time for our brains and bodies to recover. One day at a time, it’s all we can do.

Oh it's good you went to walk your dog. Exercise stimulates our brain.

Somebody said to me before "don't look at a whole picture," you're absolutely right. One day at a time.
