Very worried about depression

Hi guys I’m deterring to get very worried about my recent depression diagnosis although my therapist was pretty adamant it wasn’t serious it was due to my anxiety carting on for so long I still feel very concerned about it like this whole thing is going to follow me for the rest of my life. I’m (21) My dad assured me I won’t even remember this year when I’m older because I had a similar experience when I was younger in the sense that I went to volley for a year with out actually going to any classes back when I was 17/18 but never went into therapy wish I had now. But I’m just afraid I’ve totally changed I no longer have any good feelings what do I do?

Hi

You will get through it, best to try not to over think or worry too much. Easier said than done.

My very best wishes to you.

Go to Talk Therapy and see a Psychiatrist for possible use of medications.

Give gratitude for what you do have daily.

The past is over and done. It can't be changed.

Get away from those negative people in your life.

Hello- Glad to know that you are seeing a therapist. Just continue to see him regularly and it will help you to cope with your depression.

I want to encourage you to choose your group of friends. When I was going through a painful experience, I have a friend who always talk about defeat and how sad it was that my family was going through difficulty. I was despondent and felt so alone. I learned that it is important to surround myself with people who will encourage me and pray for me especially during trying times.

Please stay in the forum, I hope you will be encouraged by being here. I hope to hear from you again. Keep sharing. Venting sometimes helps someone to feel better. May God’s peace and strength be upon you. God bless.
