I am new to this community and joined due to experiencing high anxiety this year. If you read my profile, it has been a tumultuous year for me and my family. A lot of mental health have been discussed and addressed in our family. I am just looking for another healthy way to feel connected and supported. If you have any tips for helping to manage severe anxiety besides medication and therapy, please let me know. Thank you

Great that you found us, Blue4U....Welcome! Those are two big pieces that you want to exclude. Apart from those, exercise is a great anxiety reducer, and support from friends and family and being active on this site can help. The reason therapy is so valuable is that it can help you get under the symptom and get insight into why you have anxiety. And that can be your ticket out of it. Wishing you a Happy New Year.....
Welcome! I agree with what Catsamaze mentioned. To add to what she has suggested, I think that participating in some forms of self-care can be helpful. I won’t lie I’m not the best at this and should maybe take my own advice. Therapists I’ve had suggested mindfulness, meditation, journaling, coloring, etc. Self-care may be the basic things such as keeping with hygiene but it is also participating in the activities that you enjoy. 😊
