I have suffered with health anxiety for a few months. I’ve tried Zoloft, Prozac, and now they’re wanting me to try cymbalta. I’ve read horrible withdrawal stories and wondered if anyone else had experienced withdrawals.

Cymbalta good or bad?
Hello, I used Cymbalta and I would advise you not to use it. I used it for 1 month and then spent the next 12 months tapering down in order to stop using it (insane). This medication caused me to have brain zaps which was something I had never experienced before and it was scary. Sometimes they would last for only seconds and sometimes they would last for HOURS!!!To this day I still get the occasional brain zap thanks to Cymbalta.
What dose were you on? I’m on 20mg once a day
I can't remember what dose I started on but I now take 120mg daily. It has been a game changer for me. I started taking antidepressants. When I was 18 years old and I am now 42 was put on Prozac for awhile. It gave me energy but also increased my anxiety. I also began to cut myself and developed other OCD like behavior. I have been on many other antidepressants. But Cymbalta has far been the best for me. I know 4 other women who take it and they feel it has worked the best for them as well. Cymbalta is not only an SSRi but also a SNRI. I didn't mean for this reply to be so long and sound like a "know it all".
Hello,I am not an expert on this so I apologize if my advice isn’t the best. I’ve used Zoloft and I am now using Celexa. I think there are certain types of drugs to avoid like benzodiazepines. I also take Wellbutrin and maybe that’d work. I haven’t had any bad experiences with it or Celexa. I am copying a link I found that talks about different drugs. healthline.com/health/anxie...
I’ve tried Zoloft. It was horrible. I tried Prozac and had an adverse reaction. I really want something as needed but trying to avoid Benzodiazepines which isn’t easy.
For me Zoloft was okay but maybe it was a small dosage. I am not sure if you’ve tried any of the following but maybe they’d work: Celexa, Lexapro, Paxil, Effexor XR. I think the first three are from the SSRI group and the last is a SNRI which is what Cymbalta is. Also, I hope this isn’t offensive or too personal but what exactly is health anxiety?
I basically worry about rare incurable diseases or diagnosis. Like I’ve been expirencing all over muscle twitching ( my doctor days from anxiety) but I convinced myself I had ALS and now I’m crying I can’t eat or sleep. So she’s trying me on a different medication.
why are you worried about withdrawal before even trying it? the results might be worth it..
