Medication good or bad idea
Meds can deff help but also keep in mind that they aren't a cure all and it may take awhile to find the right one for you! Good luck! (((Hugs)))
There is nothing wrong with meds if they help you
If you had diabetes would you debate with yourself about taking insulin? Our brains can produce too little of chemicals we need to function. Sometimes we need a medication to get those chemicals stabilized.
If medication is what the doctor thinks you need in order to have a better quality of life then there’s nothing wrong with that really . Take care
I’m terrified of their side affects and I really don’t long term use I really want to do this without meds but I just can’t do it anymore I don’t feel like myself I just want her back
I was self medicating for years and got time of drinking alcohol so I want to a psychiatrist to get out on medication for my anxiety and depression and PTSD I couldn’t do it alone no more
Has medication helped you ?
Meds have helped me so much! To me, they help lift the negative filter that you have in your mind so you can think and rationalize more clearly.
Meds sometimes are something we all turn to. First of all you have to decide if you need an antidepressant and/or a benzo. It really just depends on your situation. In my case I was not happy with antidepressants (no pun intended). They made me feel very disconnected and I didnt like the lack of energy. My doctor decided a few years ago to just prescribe xanax. It has been very effective for "as needed" basis. I know it gets some bad feedback, but can be effective in treating the actual sensations of anxiety. If you start on an antidepressant ask for a benzo just to help you adjust for the first 30 days, you may need both as your mind/body get use to the change. Dont be afraid of the meds, but maybe log how you feel as you take them. Give them time to work and dont be quick to judge from the first few weeks. Good luck and stay in touch.
Hi anon 99 do you fear going on meds if so don't everyone reacts differently to them and the doctor will only give you what he feels will help you try not to google anything as this can make you over think things! Please see your doctor and seek his advice all the best david!
I've been able to avoid medication but there were a few days where I wish I had started it but now I'm glad I did not. Medication is a very personal decision and nobody should tell you what you should or shouldn't do. From my experience, I tried everything to avoid medication and in the end it worked. So maybe you just need to figure out what is best for you. I hope you feel better soon.
anon99, there is a time and a place for medication. Why suffer if you don't
have to while looking for a more permanent solution. Good Luck in getting
some relief I support the idea. xx
I always stayed away from it and my doctor confirmed that it was better for me to stay off it since I wanted to beat it and not treat it. Though it can be done with medicine and the right outlook as well
You will get through this
for me it is essential....but for some they don't work and for others they prefer alternatives.
