Generally yes, it's true but I was talking about Anxiety turning to a mental illness. I'm that one person who is battling for years now. I was not born this way.🙂I lost almost all beautiful opportunities life had planed to me. My dreams are shattered. Im lost in both personally and professionally.

Yes. I realize it.. as you said I'm under medication for almost 4 years now.. every time I think of traveling alone or staying alone I will be drowned into anxiety. Because my first episode started when I was traveling alone In a public transport which was actually triggered by gastric. I have severe acid reflux issue again fueling my situation.

Sam.... I can just no longer stay alone.. I lived all my life away from home and I thought I was designed that way.. just that one incident jeopardized the whole system. I don't know how to move away from this feeling. The site actually talks about knowing the cause of anxiety . In my case I know but how to defeat it?

“Hope and Help for Your Nerves,” by Dr. Claire Weekes, a woman MD back when that was not common, and meds, stigma, and misunderstanding were worse. There is a lot of compassion in there, and some good mental tools for dealing with panic.

A Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy workbook. I’ve used New Harbinger’s “The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook.” If anxious, obsessive thoughts have a grip on you, the writing prompts in these can help you untangle them.

Mental Health Grace Alliance, a Christian group, has good materials too. Those could be used on your own as well.

Propjack is right. The best selling self help book for curing anxiety disorder is "Hope and help for your nerves" by Doctor Claire Weekes. The same book is also published under the title "Self help for your nerves".

The author claims that if you follow her method you will recover no matter how long or how deeply you have suffered.

Her biography has just been published under the title "The woman who cracked the anxiety code".

David Barlow, Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University, says Weekes' method has allowed tens of millions to recover since her first book (above) was first published in 1962.

Weekes herself suffered from anxiety disorder and devised a method which enabled her to recover: she spent the rest of her life advocating her method. It offers understanding, ends bewilderment and provides a road plan to recovery.

You can pick a new or second hand copy up on Amazon or Ebay for a few quid/bucks.

If you have no faith in books written more than 5 years ago this book is not for you. If you believe just reading a book will cure you this book is not for you. (The book tells you what to do to recover, information alone is not enough). If you are looking for an instant fix solution this book is not for you. If you are willing to practice her method with persistence to achieve recovery this book is definitely for you.

Thanks for your suggestions Jeff.. I ordered this book today and will reach me on 8th Jan.. I'm quite committed when orders are given because i cannot simply ruin my life coz of anxiety and hopelessness. I will sure try to follow Dr. Weekes instructions . I also do breathing exercise for 20 mins daily for almost a year now, It will keep me calm for half a day and then the symptoms will come back. I can no longer manage to stay or even think of staying alone which is very important part if my life.

Do u know more about CBT?

Mindtree, web search for “cognitive behavioral therapy” will give you links to pages on many reputable web sites that will describe it better than I can. What I do, and maybe it’s not CBT, is describe the fear of the future, in writing, in detail. It is like I’m interviewing myself. That, and remember to breathe, slowly and deeply. It calms me down some. A therapist would be able to tailor the questions to your specific fears. I think there are also web sites and phone apps that will lead you through it.
