hello, i’ve never been in one of these groups before.. but i figured that maybe it could help. Right now i’m having trouble sleeping due to my anxiety. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety when i was 14 years old when i tried to take my own life. I’ve learned to live with it and tried to push it away as much as i could but it’s so tiring. i’m now 21 years old, and i’ve had lots of moments since i tried to take my life where i wanted to do it again. Of course, i never acted on it but it’s always on my mind. Anyways, it’s already 6AM here and i was having a really bad panic attack while trying to force myself to fall asleep. i kept seeing terrifying images when i closed my eyes and having this feeling that i’m going to die or that someone is going to hurt me. Because of that, i cant sleep. I tried to play some soft sleeping music and turned on my LED nights to help calm my brain. However nothing has seemed to work. I also decided to go onto a chatting hotline to talk to someone. i feel like i’m alone and have no one to talk about this with. i’m tired of feeling anxious, alone, restless, depressed, and just a mixture of everything at once. The hotline directed me to this group and i hope it can help, even just a little.

If you search well on Torture I mean YouTube there is a video of a mother cat torturing a 15 foot anaconda snake that had its eyes set on her for 4 kittens. Wait till you see what happens in the end. I won’t spoil the surprise...

You Moms’ can probably guess...

Trying to force sleep never works, it only pushes sleep further away. It’s best to just get up and do something in a dim room (if you plan to return to sleep) to completely distract you from thinking of sleep. Let sleepiness return to you naturally.

Suicidal ideation is a very common with depression. If you aren’t already, thought of therapy and discussing your anxieties especially as it revolves around sleep?

Things that might be helpful, deep breathing (look into 4-7-8), guided meditation (plenty on YouTube), CBT or CBT-I (both these can be self directed via apps or fairly inexpensive online program), ACT ( Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) could be helpful as well. ACT helped me the most (look for book written by Guy Meadows). Red light had a soothing affect on the body. Look for ways to clean up sleep hygiene problems like no caffeine after noon, no devices 2 hours prior to bed, no eating several hours before bed, block out all light coming in the room, etc.

Maybe there is a tip in here that might help. 🌺💜

Hello and welcome Peachycats

What a lovely name for a cat🐈. I'm so glad you have her. Our cats were our family.

Does Peach have unusual ears - or was is just the camera angle? Anyway, she is simply Gorgeous !!

I hope you like it on here. You will certainly fit in because there are so many lovely caring people on here. Cat lovers, Dog lovers, Animal lovers, in general nature lovers and People lovers. Lots of understanding and love.

I had a horrendous time from 14 years onward, sorry for what you're going through.

Sending Love ❤️and hugs 🤗

hello thank u for reaching out ~ yess i love my cat!! her ears look funny because my younger sister had put them in a hair tie which is why she’s making that face haha. it’s actually a screenshot from the video she took. Also, thank you! i already feel so welcomed i can really sense all the support this group already gives with only being here for less than 24 hrs. i really appreciate it!!

You removed the hair tie ?

That's not really funny is it, definitely a no.

we didn’t put it on tight or actually tie her ears, we just placed the loose hair tie around her ears for a short amount of time and then removed it right after.. i wouldn’t do anything to harm my cat

I struggle with sleep too.

I listen to 396 hz frequency music on youtube in bed and find it relaxing. It puts me to sleep when I'm not too anxious.

The funny thing that works is listening to people talking about how to deal with anxiety - it puts me to sleep! lol

Hi there, so glad you came on, welcome!! Some things that help a lot with anxiety are the following; Taking quality magnesium is great to help you sleep, to calm your mind body and spirit. Anxiety when going to bed is a sign of being deficient in it. you can take extra, it does not build up in your body and you obviously are low in it. Also, taking ginseng will get rid of those sticky negative thoughts that loop. You can also get magnesium in almonds and ginseng in ginseng tea. Take walks, no sunscreen, so you can get some vitamin D from the sun. Go outside barefoot to get grounded again to the earth, not new age, but science. Rubber sole shoes prevent this from happening as it used to before all shoes were rubber sole. The earth is full of good ionic energy to help us. Also, walks are good for the body and mind, working thru things and leaving them behind in a physical way. counsel is good, if you can't afford it, many churches offer it free. Love yourself well, take care of YOU, as you would someone else you love.
