Appreciated. I never knew a minute could feel so long. But, I understand your meaning.

Journaling is a good one for me

I need to get better at that...journaling requires calm...at least for me. It actually makes me more anxious, if you can believe. Many though have found it cathartic and healing. I am glad it has been just that for you.

With COVID-19 it has amped my anxiety-I vibrate. I find it difficult to accomplish the menial of chores. I am certain that sounds stupid! But, there I am...

I don't think difficulty doing menial chores sounds stupid, I struggle with that, I get so overwhelmed. I also used to journal but I don't anymore because it makes me feel worse putting my thoughts on paper. You're not alone.

AliceAnne-

Thank you for your reassurance. I do need. On being overwhelmed-that has become a state of mind...I always feel as if I missed something. Your comment on journaling-I agree! Actually I hate it!

I want to find a venue which offers solutions. I can only take so many, hot baths and walks. Meditating is difficult since my mind wants to make lists or solve a current problem.

Do you recommend any other groups or sites (on line) for depression/anxiety? I find some people use these websites as their Trojan Horse” to “hook up.”

Thank you.

Hi Baba, meditation is hard for me as well, I'm too easily distracted with racing thoughts. I'm sorry I cannot recommend any other sites online, I'm not familiar with any, but I believe if you Google them you will find some. I'm relatively new to this site, I found it by googling online depression groups. All the best to you.

Alice Anne-All good...thanks anyway...

I turn everything into something funny..if it makes me laugh than it doesnt matter what others think.

I don't expect a lot out of myself when I'm feeling severely depressed. I know sometimes I just have to ride through it and sooner or later I will be okay again. I've learned how to say no when some family members want to be particularly demanding and don't want to try to understand anything from my point of view. They are not me. It is hurtful if they want to call me lazy but I think that speaks more about their nasty attitude than mine.

I have a list of things that make me feel better. E.g. a particular movie that makes me laugh, painting my nails, a show that offers up a more ideal world, yoga, cleaning...

Not one thing works everytime, and often nothing on the list does it, but it's a good resource when I'm in that mindset that I have options that I could try. And sometimes they do help!

This world w/all the stimulus gets overwhelming! To put it simply-it is difficult. I just needed to hear from others, who understand.

I appreciate all of your suggestions. Very Kind! Thank you...

Try talking to your doctor about trying some different medications until you find one that works for you.
