I don't usually do trigger warnings, but I want to give you the chance to keep not thinking about the news. I've already encouraged some people with depression and anxiety to ignore what's happening nationally for a little while, since worrying is pretty much futile...
Fellow Americans, is anyone else extremely concerned for the future of their healthcare right now? I'm unemployed/vaguely freelancing and pre-Obamacare, I couldn't afford health insurance. It would be unbelievably stressful to go back to that. I'm hoping to find a job with benefits before too long but the job market is still not good. I imagine anxiety would count as a pre-existing condition, so I'm very much not looking forward to a future of struggling to get my bills paid or forgoing treatment.

I used to be a news junky. Not now. I can not bare to watch the news. I have to make myself check on the weather. I live in an area where hurricanes are yearly issue so weather is a must. I use my computer to check on what's happening because I can pick and choose if I want to know more.
I second texasbonnet, I used to love news/politics. Now all it does is bring up anxious feelings. Our politicians are bad enough (no agreement, no compromise, one upsmanship Etc), but then the media layers in their own drama to get a rise out of people for clicks.
In terms of Obamacare, I don’t think it will go away. At this point it looks like democrats mostly taking over in the next election, so I assume they’ll find ways to protect healthcare.
I hope so, but if the ACA is overturned my state loses billions of dollars in funding. They'll need to find some solution to stave off outright revolt...Some of my friends are trying to leave the country because things feel so precarious.
