I am new here...
i'm new too! nice to meet you Novack. hope your day is looking up
new here too. reading comments and seeing how others deal with anxiety/depression. Hope it helps to be here.
hi Novack and welcome to you p.s no hitting users with tennis balls now only joking hope being here helps with your issues here anytime.
I'm new here too, been trying to keep up with my anxiety for about 30 years and I'm still a work in progress Good for you for reaching out, I hope it helps.
I hope this site helps too! Thanks for responding. Not sure how this works for I have never really opened up about my anxiety, especially on line.Since my psychotherapy sessions, have made me feel better,I thought talking and getting support from others would be very helpful. I just want it over, but canât seem to get there. I have suffered over 20 years, got really bad when my mum died, my dad took a mental break down, and then I had a 100 acre farm and house to take over. I burned myself completely out. Any suggestions or tools would be welcomedđ
Wow you've had some tough breaks, haven't you. Well, everyone is different, but the things that work best for managing my anxiety are: regular meditation, journaling, exercise, trying to eat my veggies/eat less sugar, and trying to talk about it (which is why I joined here, communicating seems to help a lot). I also use medical cannabis but I wouldn't necessarily recommend that to everyone, whereas the other things are pretty universal - it's all about connecting to yourself and others, whatever practices help you do that.
I hear you when you say you just want it over. The really hard thing for me was that I found that nothing made it go away forever, it's more like a daily practice, you get better and better at managing it. After a while, your relationship to the anxiety changes. You can recognize it and shake your head at it like it's an annoying relative.
Anyway, good luck and I hope you keep in touch!
Are you on meds or any therapy sessions.
I am on escitalopram and Immovane for sleeping. Have had a few sessions with psychotherapy, seems to help with my thoughts. Waiting for the cannabis oil to be delivered.
I have this tingling and feels like muscle inflammation in my legs and arms, doctor says itâs all anxiety. I worry that itâs something else going on. I usually experience anxiety In my breathing. Hard to inhale.
Can you relate to this
I'm not currently on any meds or in therapy. In the past I've tried lots of things, different antidepressants (helped me get back on my feet along with talk therapy for a while, but didn't work for me longterm) and anti-anxiety meds like xanax (not for me). I may go back to therapy at some point, but it is hard to find a therapist I'm comfortable with. I certainly hope you find the combination of things that works for you! It sounds like you're on a good path.
I have absolutely experienced the tingling thing you're talking about. I get that in my hands when I'm about to have a panic attack. Idk what it is, maybe just stress hormones flooding your system. That could cause the breathing issues too. The worst symptom for me is this weird disconnected feeling I get, like I'm not even present in my own body and I feel paralyzed. It was such a scary feeling when I was young that I just avoided being around people. I've adjusted to it a little better by now--but it took many years to understand myself and start healing from the things that caused me to feel anxious.
It's so hard just being a human sometimes...
Thanks for sharing....just feels good to chat with someone that understands anxiety.đ¤
Diagnosed with clinical depression about 6 years ago. Diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder about 2 years ago. You can PM me or comment any questions you have.
I have dealt with GA for 20 years. I am on escitalopram and zoplicone for sleeping. I also have been having some psychotherapy sessions, which has helped a lot. Didnât realize how negative my thoughts can be and ruminating. I exercise, eat healthy and do yoga. I am going to try the cannabis oil, especially at night time, my sleeping sucks! How do you deal with your depression and GA?
Honestly, I havenât dealt with them well but Iâve survived. I take Sertraline for my depression and Buspirone for my anxiety. I have melatonin that I use to help me fall asleep.
Thanks for sharing. Keep strong and find something you enjoyđ
I have lots of things I enjoy, but I am going to school so all the effort I have is spent on homework.
Be proud of yourself that you are in school. You will graduate and get a job, hopefully the anxiety will ease. Even though school is heavy, you need to look after yourself. Go for a run, meet up with a friend for1/2 hour. Good luck and you can do thisđ
