Ever since I started using Canvas for my school work, I feels like the teachers don’t know when to give us a chance to work on the assignments they give us.
My math teacher cranks out new subject assignments every single day, my science teacher ain’t giving us enough time to finish the work she gives us, my history teacher gives us these really long reading assignments, etc!
I’m stressing so much this year because I can’t seem to figure out my math assignments and I never get any “me time” anymore. I am constantly stressing about homework or doing homework. I’m mentally exhausted 24/7!
Canvas also tells my mom when things are due so she is on me like a panther this year and never gives me a break.
I’m stressed to the bone this is year and my anxiety keeps getting worse throughout it. My parents don’t understand how this school year is affecting it, they think I’m just over exaggerating and being a drama queen. I don’t think they understand anxiety, they don’t care a bit and say I should get over it. But, I don’t think I can just “get over” it.

Reading this broke my heart, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that 😭
I teach first grade and use canvas too, and even in my little kids I see how stressful it all is. It is such an unfortunate situation that is out of your control, and I wish more parents understood that. And I also wish your teachers were more understanding.
If you need any help or advice with school or canvas, feel free to let me know!!
And remember- as long as you’re doing the best you can, you should be proud. You can do this 💙
I've used Canvas too, but in graduate school, so I understand how stressful it can be, especially for kids and teens who aren't used to online learning.
Is there anyway to communicate to your teachers and/or other students to see if they feel like the amount of material being covered is a bit excessive?
Also, hopefully as time goes on and you get more used to learning online you'll be able to get a schedule and homework routine going. Sometimes when you first start out it can be overwhelming and chaotic, but once you get organized things don't seem to take as long. My anxiety would be horrible the first week of class but it would settle down once I got a system going and was able to budget out my time to each subject.
Do find free time to relax, though, even if it means you don't read every last word in your textbook (and that is coming from someone who is a stickler for reading everything but has come to realize it wasn't totally necessary, just find the key points). Doing things you like and self care will help to improve your schoolwork because you'll be refreshed and more energized to do your work.
About the relaxation, it took me almost 6 hours to finish half of my math yesterday and then I have to finish a whole other section in math today. I had many break downs throughout the entire day and my mom didn’t let me have a single time to have a break. I don’t really know how to tell my teacher he is giving too many assignments.
Yikes that's a long time for math assignments. I don't blame you for breaking down, I would too. Do you have any classmates that you can talk to and see if it is taking them that long to finish their math? Or maybe even form a study group with your classmates (of course everyone does their own work but you guys discuss areas that you are struggling with).
Also, do you have a school counsellor you can talk to? Sometimes it is easier to talk to a third party about your struggles rather than the teacher themselves.
