Hearing voices support

Is there any support on this thing for people hearing voices?

I sadly can not give advice on this but my heart goes out to you. Though I have to admit for many years I felt I had two opposing voices that were two sides of me. I do not have that now since my major breakdown last year after finding out about my cancer and having to face my life as a whole. I just wanted you to know you are brave for reaching out and being honest and also that your kitty (I am assuming it is your kitty) is so CUTE. I know lame huh here you are dealing with a serious concern and need connections on this and I bring up the cat. But i am just a darn softy for animals

Hi Loki777,

I’m not a medical person, but I’ve experienced and still do to a lesser extent hear unpleasant voices.

My personal advice is don’t try to ignore them, as this makes the voices much worse. For example, if I said “try not not think of pink elephants”, the brain automatically starts to think of pink elephants. Apparently, that’s the way in which the human mind is wired.

I usually say to myself “there goes the voices again” and leave it at that. I hate it when “they start” but the more I wrestle against them the worse they become. Anxiety and stress make them worse.

Try not to become stressed and tired. Eat well and get good sleep or rest. If I can’t sleep I search online for natural sounds such as sea waves, as I find such relaxing and therapeutic. Any distraction helps, even though they’re still rambling on in the background.

Hearing negative voices isn’t nice at all - my heart goes out to you.

Please take care, you are not alone.

Hi thanks for replying 👍👍 yes when I'm very anxious or down the voices become very much clearer and louder I also see things too, I've lived with it for a long time since times they bother me sometimes they don't.

You may want to try to see a psychiatrist if this is a recurring thing for you. Hearing voices can mean you're experiencing a lot of stress and you might be possibly becoming psychotic. Do the voices tell you to do anything dangerous? Learn that you can control yourself and try to distract when you feel like these voices won't go away.

It's just become part of my life the biggest tie I cut from it was accepting it's just part of me, and not be be ashamed or embarrassed , just embracing it say ' yeh I know you're there,,, so what" that's the biggest step 👍

I can only talk about my experiences. Medicines that are supposed to heal or help change your health for you to get better can cause hallucinations of all sorts, especially hearing and vision and sensory hallucinations. Household products, cosmetics, etc... the list goes on and on. Its called a self-examination. You have to do your homework. There is a process called elimination - where you rule out the suspect, one by one. You get the idea. Then you work with your doctors, specialist and everyone else who will let you. Make sure they are willing to help you find the cause. It do not have to be something you've done in the past. That could be an experience by itself, that caused you to hear voices. I had to stop using bleach, ammonia and other strong chemicals. You'd be surprised at what can cause this to happen to you. Don't be lazy, its something you will be proud of one day. Then you can go on with your life, now that you know the culprits.

Hi 😊 nice to hear from you, yes you are right about that a lot of day to day products you use can play havoc with you, nail polish ,,, yuk the smell makes my head hurt, it is an elimination process and like I said sometimes I'm ok with the voices and seeing things that are not really there some days it drives me bit loopy but I do accept it's just part of me I lived with for so long.
