Did anyone on here have muffled hearing as a symptom of anxiety when it came on ? I occasionally have a ringing too on occasion but more it’s just muffled . I went to np there was nothing wrong with my ear .
If you experienced this , when you get your anxiety managed in therapy or whatever ... does this issue improve or go away ?
I pray it does ! It is weird how it seems it get worse when I’m anxious and can improve when i am calmer and more relaxed .

Hi Pinkgurl, yes i can relate. I personally experience ringing in the ear and muffled hearing. i was around someone that talked really loud at work for 17 years and didn't realize that the sound overstimulation led to stress and anxiety.
every time i heard the calls on speaker my ears would ring and i feel like i lost hearing on the left ear.
I think we don't realize how our environments can contribute to our bodies and psychosomatic symptoms that affect our overall well being.
if you didn't know before, now it's a really good time to start paying attention to your body and noticing what's stressing your body.
Hi Pinkgurl, i noticed my body is more calm when i'm in a quieter environment. for example, when i'm home, i like to be in complete silence and softlight so my body can relax. less headaches and ear ringing. i think it's my body saying it needs to chill. Been over stimulated with the external environment.
Ok . Thanks ! I’ve read several sites that say when you treat the anxiety that the symptom : muffle ear should dissipate . Hoping that it will do that for me once I get therapy and can control my stress better . It came on same time as all my other symptoms pretty much all at once . One big pile on ! But it does improve when I’m less stressed . If only I could stay that way !
Thank you ! I pray therapy helps me . I did not want to do medication until I gave therapy a chance . But the more you deal with it without help the harder it is to stick to that .
Hi Pinkgurl, i wouldn't go the medicine route first because that's creating a dependency. also lots of symptoms are a reaction to what's happening in our minds so no need to create more issues by harming kidneys or other organs. best is to get to the bottom of the issue instead of applying a band-aid with medicine. that's my personal approach.
Thanks ! I do want to get to the root of this and I know that coping skills with stress has always been an issue even before this onslaught of anxiety symptoms . I need to learn how to process stress better and to not always go to the worst case scenario with every negative thought or event in life . I appreciate your honest thoughts on this .
