Fear of time
Time passes, and we all will perish at some point. It is unavoidable, unfortunately. It is one of those things that we simply cannot change. Worrying about it won't help.
Do you believe in any kind of higher power? Life after death? That everyone has a spirit or soul?
Because here on earth, we all will lose everything, it is unavoidable and inevitable. If you have no hope beyond what is on this earth, then it will feel quite hopeless.
Think about it.
Hello, I’m sorry that you’re dealing with this anxiety. I’m in the same boat and struggle with keeping a healthy perspective on things. I’m always wishing I could just freeze time and hold onto now as long as possible. Lately, I’ve even seen my health anxiety explode and I scrutinize every feeling/sensation.
I wish I had a formula to help. In general, I’ve had some positive experience with meditation but it’s hard to maintain with negative thoughts always ready to jump in. Have you tried journaling, meditation or any other activity? I’ve also seen several recommendations from others here to just push yourself to try anything distracting. From folding laundry to cross word puzzles. Regardless of what you try, I hope we can both remover that this is a long journey and we’ll need to be compassionate and patient with ourselves the entire way.
