I just wonder what are some signs that point to yes I am doing my best? In some cases I feel I push too hard but in others I am so comfortable that I wonder get should I add on something new in my life.

What is true for you?

I use to be a perfectionist, it’s pretty much in my DNA or perhaps part of being a Virgo...

I’ve let go of that, getting older has humbled me quite a bit, I suffered one long 13 year stretch of a depressive episode that robbed me of way too many things in my life that I cannot reset the clock for, now I just do what I can with what I’ve got as sleep and what energy i have in the tank drive my days and what I’m able to accomplish.

I’m 53 next month, minor goals like setting exercise goals, completing small projects, doing what I can to help others, etc. is enough for me. I guess I’ve reached the point of acceptance in my life if I think about it. 😊

I’m 43 and a Virgo! I think I’m a perfectionist. How did you let go of that? I go back and forth on that.

Well, it didn’t come over night. I guess I could say that somethings in life I had to give up or scale way back on started with my depression. I fought tooth and nail to be a highly functioning and successful person with depression but it won per se.

Learning acceptance was/is truly my cure. Also knowing that I am enough.

Acceptance yes! That’s a brilliant thing to be able to do. Things are how they are and we are enough.

I think this comes from within you. If I do what I've set out to do and still have energy afterwards, then it's enough. If I set out to do what I want to do plus more and feel like a character from "Night of the Living Dead" afterwards, then I've overdone it. I make a mental note of how I feel after both sides and alter my activity load accordingly.

Oh, no problem at all😁

Yeah, I do too. My husband normally finds me passed out hugging the vacuum cleaner. I'm learning, though.

I am aware in any given situation that I am doing my best. Don't forget that best is best even if it's crap, but no one, expecially yourself can expect any more of yourself than that. x
