Hey there . I'm on setraline for the past 3 weeks and I've started to Develop involuntary movements . They are driving me crazy . Will they subside or will I need to change meds do you think ? Anyone else experience this ?
I've got a docs appointment this Friday . But wanted to hear any of your experiences on it please .

I have been under more stress lately with my GAD, Biolar and medical problems. My body has been jokting,=, Arms and back popping waking me up. Is this similar to what you are talking about?
Thanks so much for the reply . No o don't get it when asleep only awake . It eases when I'm resting /lying down but when I'm up and about my arms jolt and my grand and neck. It's like I get this shiver through my body and I have to let it out . If that makes sense . My first time on setraline so all new to me but its definitely not something I want to continue . As it'll have the opposite effect and make me not want to go out or do anything because of these tics .
I get them awake too. Another thing to talk to my Dr about. 48 hours without sleep for year now.. Depression and anxiety, GAD and Bipolar with medical problems. Need an operation which the hospital will not do now with the virus. I am freaking.
Oh god that's not good your op being cancelled . Sorry to hear that .
My sleep is a bit all over the place too . But it's getting better it's the tics that I'm worried about . If I stopped taking the meds would they stop I truly don't want to be left with them
It's getting worse today . I'm slapping my legs . I've found out it's called Myoclonus . And that if I change meds or decrease dosage (but I'm only on 50mg ) that I'll subside within 2 weeks . I absolutely cannot continue with these on a continuous basis . It's the worst !!
I had to go off meds to get this under control. It's very uncomfortable and for me embarrassing. I constantly licked my lips and feet move constantly. Good luck.
Hey kamp2020 . So has it now stopped because you came off the meds ? And if so how long did it take . Totally agree with it being embarrassing . Sure it's having the opposite effect as it's making me want to stay in and not go anywhere . So kind of defeats the purpose of the meds really 🤷♀️.
I still have a little. It's been 2 months since they took me off. I've had this happen before and it took 6 months for it to go away. Nothing reccomended except to stay away from stimulants. There are medications for tardive which is what these movements are called but most insurance companies won't cover it and there are some nasty side effects. Good luck
I've done some research and I think mine might be a bit different to Tardive , Myoclonus seems to be more fitting to what I have as it's my head neck and hands that have the jerking .
Now would you believe . I took some CBD oil approx 5 hours ago and the ticks have all but disappeared... for now !! . I actually cannot believe it . My body is actually at ease for the first time in over a week !! Don't know how much longer it will last but I feel good right now .
6 months !!!! Jesus that's a long time . Sorry to hear that your still having some now even after 2 months . It's shit isn't it !!
So can I ask what meds you took at that time and are you on different ones now but they had the same effect ? Mine are 50mg of setraline . But due to go up to 100mg but will see what the doc has to say on Friday .
