Global Amnesia diagnosis

I had a cerebral vascular accident, confusion, dizziness, falling etc . My main arteries are clear but it could, probably is Factor 5 genetic blood clotting disorder. I’ve had DVT & PE in past. But my GP who down plays everything , said I had global amnesia. I do have CPTSD but not from being a soldier.

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with global amnesia? Was it from CPTSD? Will it come again? What else can I learn?

I suffer a Congenital Short Term Memory Disorder, I am also Chronic Disabled and suffer Reactive Depression and Anxiety. So I can understand in some way how you feel.

We all need to live with our problems, that can be very difficult and we always worry if our concerns become worse. I had Scans etc of my brain and they can see the problem although it is not a lead into Dementia. My memory is a real problem.

You mention and ask if it will come back again, to be honest I cannot say yes or no. I suffered a Viral Meningitis a long time ago and that still affects memory. We are all different.

Would a course of CBT help you, your GP may help you down a well worn pathway.

If your problem has got better, great. If not, how long is a piece of string. Only your Doctor can advise on that.
