I suffer from anxiety over very silly things, and I've been looking for ways to change my thinking. My anxiety is not crippling, but it is annoying and a few recent events have kicked it into gear (surprisingly, not related to any of the current issues in the country).
Advice is welcome, but I don't want to start any sort of medications for anxiety if it can be avoided. I honestly don't think I need it; I need to retrain the way I consider things.

I’ve found that certain meditation apps, books on managing anxiety (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and medical websites that talk about managing symptoms. Also look up “distorted thinking” or “irrational thoughts”. Everyone does them but they might affect people with depression and anxiety more.
I suffer from the same thing, I find myself getting caught over many things due to my overthinking and what-if thoughts over Scary Movies. Silly for me because I know it isn't real, burning my mind I clearly see as something that could actually happen...Recently I've watched a CreepyPasta Review from one of my favorite Youtube Channel called "Backrooms" and I can't get it out of my head. Even when I clearly know that it's entirely fictional and was written by someone. So me and you are on the same boat man.
Kind of. My things are actually real but they are so minor as to be laughable. The worst possible outcome is not really that bad, but it seems to consume me because I feel like it's lowering my quality of life. It's frustrating because I am fully aware that I could have much bigger issues.
