So I’ve recently been diagnosed with GAD and panic disorder with agoraphobia. I’ve been dealing with this anxiety for about 6 weeks now. My anxiety is so bad that it has mentally taken over everything. It’s like I have no control over my body or mind anymore. I struggle daily with my mental health and have yet to find any relief. Most days I feel like I’m going crazy. I’ve tried antidepressants but they make my mental health even worse so I haven’t been using any. I recently signed up for psychotherapy and am hoping this will help. Any advice.?!

Severe anxiety
Antidepressants did not work for me either. I reccomend meditation and different types of therapy. Anxiety may be chronic and come and go like mine. You have to learn to accept it and not freak out. Benzos have worked for me and i still take them currently.
You are not alone. I understand what you’re going through and I feel your pain as I experience the same horrible feelings. Seeing a therapist is extremely helpful. You might be anxious about doing so, but they’re there to help.
Until your appointment, you could try this visualisation to help with your anxiety:
Remember that the anxious thoughts are like a bully. This bully wants to follow you around and tell you horrible things, but just like real life bullies, we want don’t listen to them because they’re just big jerks. Do you know someone personally who is a jerk or tells lies or who is not a credible person? Let’s say the persons name is John.Think of that person and think of their voice, and when the anxious thoughts come around, say to yourself, "oh that’s just John. John’s an idiot he has no idea what he’s talking about. John's useless Get lost John!"
Let me know if you need other tips until then.
Take care There is hope!
