Ideas on how to get person to take their medication

Wondering if folks dealing with depression and anxiety could help me to develop an understanding. My child has recently been diagnose with both of these items. He will not take all the medication for his illness. He says the one makes him tired which is understanding but then the doctor advised him he could take it at night but he seems to always forget. Putting rules in place only makes him defiant and he is an adult. Any recommendations to at least get the medication into him.. Many other questions to come later. Thank you.

Well, there goes my "can you mix it into his food?" idea (that probably wouldn't go down so well with an adult).

The only thing I can suggest is to talk to his doctor about possible ideas. I'm sure they are used to dealing with defiant patients when it comes to medications

One thing I can share with you that might be helpful is my own experience several years back. I had taken myself off something because I didn't like how it made me feel. My psychiatrist told me that I was tying her hands behind her back by doing that. I recall starting them up again after that.
