I have been having severe panic attacks for a month now, I’ve also been bed resting because of it. Now that I’m trying to get up and start moving again my body is VERY shaky! I tremble all over. Is this because I’ve been really lazy lately or could this mean a type of neurological disease.... I googled this and it keeps taking me to a Parkinson’s website.... I need some insight please.... it’s making my panic even worse!
The shakiness feels like when you’ve worked out and stop but I haven’t worked out at all!
If it was Parkinsons you would do resting trust me on that !! Could be a tremor you do not have to be anxious to have that and that is perfectly fine !!!!
No but I am health professional and have worked with clients who have the shakes and normally anxiety or just normal . Parkinson's is more to it and you may not have shaking depends on the Parkinson.
I did read where it normally starts off as a tremor in one limb first! Mine is all over. It seems like a devastating illness. I’m sure it must take an emotional toll on you being around it. Just reading about it hurts my heart for the ones who suffer from it!
I definitely have severe anxiety and I have been laying in the bed ALOT for the past few weeks I think it’s made my body week and over sensitive to where I’m shaking from lack of movement for so long.... just wanted other opinions it helps me not to put it on something terrible instead of what real.
In that case as you have been in bed the shaking is probably just weakness and will get better the more you move around . As I work in that sort of job I am used to every health condition we get used to it.. If when moving and less anxious you have it still go back to GP. Have a list of things that bring it on to prove not anxiety .
A pleasure I am always happy to help . PM or message back if you need any more. I hope it will stop soon . If it doesn't go back to GP with a log of when it happens it helps.
Hello Laesanders89, Have you been under any stressors at work or home, etc. Being in constant stress for a long periods of time will alter our brain and heighten our nervous system, that will affect our whole well being with all kinds of physical symptoms that will mimic diseases and chronic ailments. We can counter balance all that negative energy we absorb into positive energy to keep us in harmony. Our thought process is so important too. You will be OK.
I was the same exact way! I always used to shake when nervous or sometimes for no reason! It was a side effect of my meds but now i’m off medication i feel fine.
I would say given your current anxiety experience it is definitely related to that. Sometimes when you are not feeling the best and have been resting alot, your body does tend to feel weak and shaky as soon as you get moving. Sometimes it's also because when you are anxious you are constantly scanning your body for signs of something bad.
I have had anxiety around health for many years, for example, this weekend i think i strained my back as it is really sore and it hurts to move around or make certain movements, and now my mind is starting to play tricks on me like "but what if it's something really bad...maybe you need to go see a doctor, maybe it's not a back strain but something much worse". I'm avoiding googling right now for that reason. Don't want to feed into it as it can be hard to get out of that train of thought!
I'm sure you will be okay, try your best to not overthink it and jump to conclusions. Just remind yourself that doctors are the medically trained ones to make those judgements, not us. So on some level you do have to have faith that if they are not too concerned, it's most likely not something to be stressing over.
Diabetes can do that too. I have type 2 diabetes, when my blood sugar is low I get shaky. Have you been tested? I’d stay off google for medical advice, I did that with misleading information.
Hi I'm sorry your having such a hard time it sounds to me like your nerves they can make you feel ill . You need to phone your doctors and get some help are you on any medication for panic attacks?
Shaking was part of my anxiety symptoms. It’s what happens when cortisol- fear hormone- courses through your body. I started doing jumping jacks whenever it came on. The sympathetic nervous system needs to balance out with the parasympathetic. It wasn’t the whole solution, but it did help. Sitting still and lying down won’t achieve this shift in the body.
I have been there before, I was hidden from friends for two months and I was so scared that I was shaking and angry at same time when I try my best to start coming out I will be so emotional that when someone pass me I will be very scared and hide my face then I went through mood swings and I trying to go to church even if it was hard. I just manage to stay calm but sometimes I feel stiff when trying to play cool.
If you have a friend that understands you will find it easy going out with him. And try to dress nice to look little more comfortable when you go out, and try not to talk much so you won't start to judge yourself on how you are acting toward others.
When I am at my most anxious, I shake so much that it's hard for me to walk downstairs in order to leave my apartment. The longer I avoid moving, the worse it gets. I have stopped visiting my family in another state, because traveling makes me nervous, and my stepfather is so concerned when he sees me shaking, and his well-intentioned observations make me shake more. I know it is an anxiety symptom, but when it happens I can't help but think the worst. I therefore understand what you are going through. I just take life minute by minute, and try to move as much as possible. You should try not to be bed-ridden due to anxiety and panic. That just reinforces the belief that you are sick, and it can make you more anxious and shaky. I hope that my experience with this helps you. Wanna talk sometime?
Most definitely anxiety related. I also have PTSD and can have the shakes for days at a time on a mild level without even feeling anxious. It was never a symptom I had until a year ago and it scared me because I had never experienced it, but my therapist was right about it and had told me it's just the way I'm reacting to some stress (which I had in my life). But the more you give in to laying in bed and letting it "mess" with your mind it will linger. Exercise is my way of managing all my symptoms, but every once in a while I have a bad few days but now realize what is happening and instead of letting myself give in and worry I just try to "ignore" the symptoms and push on with my life. Honestly now it get's easier to control. But be easy on yourself and just try to find what works for you. And remember you're not alone. 🙂
Please do your best to get up and about even if it is only in the house. I don't want to worry you but I left it too late and now I can only walk with a frame and use a Zimmer indoors. The doctors say it is "just"anxiety, possibly something to do with medication I'm on. All I know is moving about is the answer for me but don't have âgé on my side as over68. Just long to do Granny things with my 3 little grandsons but all I feel safe doing is reading them stories...
Def sounds like anxiety, have had the same thing many times. Smoking, coffee and Coca Cola can all aggravate so try to eat and drink healthy, maybe some herbal tea. Once you start to relax symptoms will ease. Good luck x
Hi Laesander89,
Sorry, I can't help, but I never experienced that. When I first started taking anxiety meds, my hands would shake, while writing, it stopped after a few bc weeks. 🙏
