Headaches

So I recently have been getting headaches daily for the past week and it’s making anxiety worse for me because I see that it could be a tumor and that scares me a lot and I don’t know what to do. Any advice or ways to ease my mind about this??

Phone your GP and stop thinking about tumours.

Meanwhile drink plenty of water.

There are numerous reasons for headaches.

Stress and anxiety go hand and hand with headaches, I have the same issue, along with dizziness, light sensitive.. etc..

Are you taking medications?

Well it's most likely anxiety related, but always good to let your dr know.

Definitely tell your doctor. It can't hurt. I have a relative who also has health anxiety. The smallest sensation she feels that seems slightly unusual to her, she imagines a list of possible things it could be, usually a worst case scenario. Often for her, she actively brains storms other, less significant things it could be. So many things can cause headaches, including anxiety. Definitely try things like drinking plenty of water, stretching any tight spots in your neck that could be giving you a tension headache, icing it. Maybe it would be good to have a mantra, something to tell yourself that helps focus on what it is (a headache) rather than what it could be (a tumor) and that reminds you what you're doing to relive it will work?

Yes! I have some advice!

I have suffered chronic migraines since the 7th grade. I am now 27. I have tried every migraine preventative out there.

If your sensitive to sounds, light, some weird vision changes while having these bad headaches, you probably have a migraine. Migraines typically last this long. Is it on one side of your head? (Left or right.) Call your doctor, and make an appointment. Tell him these things you notice, where and how it’s affecting you.

Try taking Tylenol and aspirin together. That sometimes takes the edge off for me. Also, some people say use an ice pack. Ice makes my migraines worse, so I use a hot pad. Your doctor may put you on a medication or give you a migraine shot.

Good luck! Keep us posted 💕

Yes bad migraine and no sleep ..i haven't been on medication in a while and i have found myself stressing alot i think that might be the cause idk

Hi like you i had headaches and i thought the worst so i took the step and saw a doctor, and it was down to tension and anxiety with what is going on and been going on,it helped put my mind at ease and in long run i started to feel better within myself so i would say a check by your GP will not go a miss for the longer you dont you will get more headaches through worry

If it will make you feel better go to your GP. Otherwise DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT. Headaches are a normal part of life, especially for anxious people. That kind of people are usually very sensitive, high strung human beings. It has to do with the brain chemistry you were born with, so there is nothing much you can do about it but accept it. It gets worse with age, unless you make peace with it. Bouts of anxiety, with all its shitty symptoms, are going to come occasionally, last for some time, and then will go away . Acceptance is the key for managing it. Life is not about only pleasant times. Daily meditation is of great help.
